Animal is right....even with a huge majority,no one wanted a Labour government. The vote share proves it. Even in my constituency,Rother Valley,Alex Stafford only lost his seat by 600 votes. Now given the kicking the Tories got nationally and the fact that Rother Valley is 'nailed on' Labour, that is pretty impressive.

I take the point Reform won by only 6 votes but that is still a very impressive achievement to overturn such a majority in one of Labour's safest seats .

The take from the elections is that if they were elections in the seats Labour won marginally last year then they would lose a huge amount of them to Reform .

There should be huge alarms going off inside the Labour government right now and the centralised tin eared approach needs to be changed .

I've said before nobody really wanted a Labour government it's just that we wanted the Tories even less and in no shape or form is this government comparable to Blair's .

Banking on growth without any real policy or clue how to create growth in order to drive public investment seems unlikely .
I agree Animal, this Labour government is nowhere near what Blair's labour was. Starmer's government reminds me of the squad Evan's has just built down at the NYS.......cobbled together with no structure, purpose, strategy or shape!

indeed but what is it about Reform that makes them so attractive to an increasing number of voters?

That is their unique selling point?

Tory and Labour top dogs have a whole host of reasons as to why Joe Public doesn't like them (which may be true) but the move to Reform is their USP of wanting to clamp down on immigration. The other parties prefer to blame other factors and don't want to take on the immigration problem.

    Indeed it is.
    You can add to that.
    Lying to farmers.
    The shameful treatment of pensioners.
Lying about cancel tax and energy bills not going up.
Failure to even understand why people wanted an enquiry into the grooming scandal.
Calling anyone far right for expressing genuine concerns.
Keep blaming a 22 billion pound black hole.

They have managed to make the last government less destructive which I didn?t think was possible as the tories were just a bunch of cronies who lied and sneered at the average person.
Then again that describes this labour government.

I don?t vote reform but if there was a general election right now this shameful Labour government would be in trouble.
    What a **** show.

Can reform do any worse than the last conservative government and the present one ? Nobody knows but I will give them a try .

Another one to add to your list.

Labour said putting vat on private school fees would pay for employing more teachers. Now they are saying there isn't enough cash in the budget for more teachers

It's the Council staff I feel for. Can you imagine their anguish at being told they're gonna have to actually turn up at the office if they want to get paid? Heartbreaking story here...
