I get where you are coming from and I always try to be positive - been part of the club apologists for a long time.
But ... although I am fully behind the team and am desperate to see us win at Wembley on 26th May I am finding it hard to put the last 46 games behind me. There seems to be the extra bit missing that you need in the big games. I don't think that the performance on Saturday was totally bad (and Doncaster were top of the league), but that extra bit was missing again. At least at no point were we in an automatic place.
But as we have seen this season, anything can happen. It was so obvious there would be a twist at the end - as proved with a deflected winner at Bradford in the 96th minute. The last time we were in the play-off final, even though there was only a couple of minutes to go and we were losing I always felt we were going to score ... and along came Bostock! This time though I am finding it difficult to get my level of belief so high. That season I never thought we wouldn't do it. This time though I am far less confident.
However, come 8.00 next Saturday night I will probably be thinking different, and hope springs eternal.

Of course we can do it. We should already have done it. I'll be at both legs if possible to support my team and I have always been an eternal optimist. But, the difference now is I don't really believe we will
Little Stuart's cowardly football, played that way because he doesn't have any other idea has killed mine and many others belief.
We will walk out on Saturday night and no doubt play the same slow prescriptive ****, where available passes between the lines will be ignored to retain possession of the ball in our half. He will make his pre determined changes after 70 minutes, even if that means we are losing, he will still bring on defensive players.
Yes this group of players can get promoted via the play offs because the teams left in are no better.
But it will need an element of anarchy in the changing room to get it done. I pray we come out with a high press from minute one, lift the crowd, give us something to cheer, not just because it's expected. I want to see us throw absolutely everything at Wimbledon and play at a tempo they can't match!!
However, I've no real belief that will happen. It will be Groundhog day all over again and then he'll hope to nick it away from home the following week.

We should ask Swale to edit the 'Promotion or not' poll to saying 100% yes.
That should improve our chances massively.
Admirable summing up of the regular matchday experience 👏👏
I thought that the opening tempo against DR on Saturday was far superior to how Notts tend to start matches . A shame we conceded, almost immediately, after the unnecessary stoppage and restart following a non head injury !
Too stereotyped , Notts performances and predictable changes have all been planned for by the opposition.
The Salford game (H) for example was
an obvious example of a failed game plan.
A game where it was necessary to play balls in behind their back line to counter their intensive high press tactics .
Unfortunately ,as you say, Notts seem to have predetermined planned changes which are often related to match minutes for players rather than the obvious necessary changes in personnel .
Jarvis for example, at Bradford , went by players on three occasions as if they weren't there, hardly featured since and was instructed by Maynard to primarily be a defender v Donny. Jodi was IMO a prime candidate for the first change . Bringing on Edwards and Hinchy were again negative substitutions and more about minutes for players than winning the game.
Elite Pie- love your irony. Good idea, COYP's Thinking positive!
