Possibly true but I think the club may think where will he be in 12 months time ie could we get ?100-200k for him.

Still thankfully we dont have to make that call !

Agree. And interesting to compare Whitaker and Josh Martin. Hopefully we're talking about the emerging player slot behind a currently more effective first teamer.

Hiram Boating has been released by Mansfield. Would be a decent L2 midfielder.

Rather have Curtis Thompson on a free as he has been released by Grimsby

If we release, we have to pay the rest of their contract, which would really affect how we go about ourselves in the transfer market.

Gordon, Morais, Robertson and Hinchy will all be on decent contracts given they are or would have been given squad playing status when joining.

Also, Maynards got another 2 years (I think)which we'd have to pay off...

The announcement of any retained list should rightly wait until the last ball has been kicked this season. The timing of a debate about it now, with 2 days to go to the 1st PO match is just wrong.

Steady on, if we banned premature speculation and conjecture, the mainstream media would be out a job and football message boards would be empty. Make your own minds up whether that's the definition of utopia or hell!
