Thread: Where will we finish 2024/25?

i'm not sure we are going into this believing we can't beat anyone like the Grimsby campaign. Which i remember correctly we lost because of an over exuberant forest player pushing a player for no reason !!
This season we have played good and bad probably in equal measures, well probably more good than bad.Keep Didzy fit for the 3 games , get JJ back to his best which is now possible as he is match fit a last, but still struggling for form. We need the back four to its best, again not a big ask as they have been good for the majority of the season. We wiped the floor with Chesterfield in the First half at ours (should have been at least 3 up)and if i remember correctly they had two lucky deflections that saw them score to win the game at ours.We were neck and neck with the promoted teams on the pitch although Doncaster at home was a no show. i for one am pretty OK with where we are i fancy us to beat anyone in the play offs if we play to our capabilities. How i see it though with the vibe on the board is, if we win its down to the players , if we lose it will be down to the manager !?

Outside looking in the truth is a lot of teams have competitive budgets, one with a very large one got relegated, the other really struggled and we got 6th but why do most feel so deflated? Genuine question as I?m in the same boat.
Surely our home form is the biggest factor in us feeling deflated, especially towards the end of the season. On the face of it, it hasn't been an awful season. The teams that went up all have bigger budgets than us. We've managed to remain competitive and claim a playoffs spot despite selling our star striker in the summer and our best player in Jan. It's just the home form and unimaginative, gutless performances at home that have made me doubt pretty much everything.

When you posted later under your current username you said 7th to 10th, but that wasn't an option in the poll. And now you're claiming that you were "much closer than most" and I was "way off"!

Anyway, this was one very early prediction made with minimal evidence. How about we talk about the matchday predictions made with very recent evidence. Last time I looked you were 36 places below me! So when have you ever won any prediction competitions?*

Yes way off I don?t believe we ever looked close to finishing 11-14th at any point this season.

I know Putney, I?ve had a beer or two there before it?s lovely but I do not know Putney Pie.

Last time I checked everybody who made pre season predictions had minimal evidence. It was the same for everyone. Or is that not the case?

The matchday predictions is another fun little competition. Well done on having a good showing

Thats a bit over the top Pedro. I did relent on his performances this season.

Or in other words, the team should perhaps perform as they should have done and we would now be promoted! Stuart, show us you are up to the job. Over to you. Promotion or sack.
