There was nothing wrong with the old system when only the league champions from one country played in the European Cup, the Cup winners in the Cup Winners Cup and clubs who finished in 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th in the league entered the UEFA Cup. Of course, they make more money with the present system. It is farcical that as many as six clubs from one country could enter the Champions League. It is not a champions league!
