The performance was a little better than recent efforts and yes we did create four or five good chances, but being honest I'm not surprised we didn't score. Wimbledon came to battle and defend and they made a couple of good defensive stops, but that's pretty much all in a day's work as far as they are concerned. For large parts of the game they looked like they expected, and could comfortably handle, what we were bringing.
If we had finished any of the chances they would have gone down as very attractive, well-worked goals, but in a way that's the problem. We're a "nice" team to play against. I would sooner see us stick the ball in the mixer more often and score a couple of scrappy goals than come away with mild plaudits about our football but nothing material to show for it. I'm pretty sure the top teams in this league look at us and think we're pretty powder-puff, more obsessed with style than substance.
Regarding Jatta, it probably wasn't a sending off offence, but there was frustration in his tackle and I'm not surprised, because we do little if anything to bring him into games with the style we play. He looks like an isolated figure a lot of the time, fighting for scraps while the moderately pretty football goes on around him.

I thought we were better than for some time but its now 4 straight home defeats .The manager has motivated the team tonight but he is not a winner.I will also say the system is wrong. Its league 2 and we need a back 4 with a gorilla alongside Platt.Bedeau would be a great left back.Stags have released Aden Flint.Perfect .
Couldn?t have gone much worse, perhaps a second Wimbledon goal to kill the tie I suppose, but we are still in contention. Strangely I have a little more hope for the second leg after that ending, but I do mean a little.
