    With both Jatta and Didzy out apart from their obvious goal threat we will miss them defensivly at set pieces it leaves us
    with only Platt , Bedeau and McDonald with any heading ability and we saw how they take players out with their holding
    and shirt pulling in the first leg

    ..............Bass
    ....Macari..Platt...McDonald
    Jones..Abbott..Palmer...Bedeau
    ..Whitaker..Traore..Jarvis
    This could work.
    Baldwin scored his first 2 goals for Notts in a playoff semi final I seem to remember.
    Also gets another big man on to cover for the loss of Jatta in defensive situations.

    Good point. Yeah, unexpected players can come up big when things get desperate.

    You'd hesitate though because he's played there once or twice before and did poorly. Each game is different though and this could be the moment. If Chicksen can get 11 goals from there, Bedeau can score too.

    I think Grant would have to be in there somehow. He was in the right places at the right times and it took 2 outstanding saves and a brilliant clearance to stop him scoring.
    The bench is going to look very thin with probably very few gamechangers on it.

    Given it?s now definitely McGoldrick and Jatta out, it will be really interesting to see what Maynard goes for.

    It is imperative that Jarvis starts as well as Jones. Both are able ball carriers with a bit of magic; we will certainly need that on Saturday. If everyone else who has been available recently is still, I would go for;

    Bass
    Macari, Platt, Bedeau
    Gordon, Palmer, Abbott, Jarvis
    Grant, Jones
    Traore

    I think Gordon is a good ball carrying option too, and him starting would give Jones a little bit of freedom and Jones and Jarvis could rotate between themselves.

    I think Maynard will go;

    Bass
    Macari, Platt, Bedeau,
    Jones, Palmer, Abbott, Jarvis
    Whitaker, Grant
    Traore

    In either scenario, we need to be brave and get someone up alongside/as close to Traore as possible. I think if you played Traore in a two, given his pace, he could be a real fright for Wimbledon. With Jarvis and Jones driving form slightly deeper, if they can use the ball as Jervis did for Grants third chance on Saturday, we could have some joy.

    There is still plenty in tomorrows game for us and the job really is still the same; win.

    I don?t mind the formation we?ve used all season as we?ve generally recruited personnel to fit it, but given our two biggest attacking threats are both out surely we have to free-up Jones and Jarvis and go with what would IMO be a genuinely exciting front three, backed by the energy of Abbott and Grant. It even ticks Maynard?s ?inverted? box, but crucially we?d still have width from the overlapping full backs.

    Bass
    Macari Platt McDonald Bedeau
    Abbott Palmer Grant
    Jones Traore Jarvis

    Or, we could just replace McGoldrick with Whitaker and Jatta with Traore, keep the same shape and watch our season peter out. Which is what I?m expecting, given there never seems to be much of a game plan for how we?re going to score a goal.

    Seems fairly obvious. Though like the Titanic heading towards the iceberg everyone except Captain Maynard can see whats coming and thinks we should change course.

    That 4-3-3 works for me. Let's go for it Notts!
