And before anyone argues the time, Ardley had 108 games, Maynard has had 70...
Ardley played the majority of his games in the National league because he took us there..!
All of Maynards were at a higher level. Conversely he took us into a play off spot, not a relegation spot.!!

The bros are not emotive like many on here about Notts and all evidence suggests that they won?t pull the plug on SM. The only sacking in there time was Ardley and they did that begrudgingly.
SM will be here next season and with a bit of luck he?ll get support he needs to make Notts a force in L2 during 25/26.
It's hardly emotive after 18 months of an uninspiring tenure.

He and the squad have clearly said time and again the target is promotion.

You can point to Tom, Dick and Harry being injured but I'm sure the other promoted teams have had players out for varying lengths of time.

He should have done better with the resources he's had. A very solid backline where 3/4 have been available for well over 90% of the season, a rising star from Tottenham who's barely missed a game and 2 of the leagues leading scorers. It was Maynard's job to galvanise the rest of the squad and find them roles to contribute towards a promotion push.

If he's only as good as the players then give me the job as it's clearly pointless unless you have every player available.

Can you get a refund on your season ticket ???

    I assumed that :-

    A) we would get promotion

if we didn?t he would be sacked.

    Or Both !!!

Any competent manager would have beaten Fleetwood, Bromley, Colchester, Barrow, Salford and Cheltenham at home.
That would have been enough for automatic promotion, heck even just beating half them teams would have done it.
We've wasted a superb opportunity to get promoted. Sickening.

Replacing Dan Crowley with Whittaker (who l believe, had never played a league game?) didn't help the cause much.

We could have never replaced Crowley in Jan and I?d argue not in summer, well not like for like. There?s a reason why he?s in L2 and it?s not ability, finding a player with that ability would be a very tough ask.

The solution would have been having a lot better options than grant and Whittaker, not as good as Crowley but 2 players with a lot more goal/assist output than them.

If Maynard doesn't get a decent set of results early on next season, I feel it's going to get toxic very quickly.
Better off having a change and backing the new man with proven EFL quality.

Do we know for certain that they would have sacked Burchnall in 2022 if Forest Green hadn't come calling.
Imagine how different things could have been.

I would have thought hes probably likely to go down the Burchnall route of a coaching job at a bigger club. We keep being told hes a great coach though Ive seen very little evidence for it.
Well the route Burchnall took probably pays more and you dont have the stress of bad results as much.

I dunno where he'd end up he should have a word with Wayne Rooney agent he seems to know how to land jobs !
