Sad if Didtz doesn't sign a new contact but it could possibly be MK Frenchfries?

We could have possibly kept him if we had gotten promo.

We'll miss him if true, but he'd only be a bit-part player next season anyway and almost certainly our highest earner unless he takes another pay cut. Maybe a blessing in disguise if we an reinvest in a couple of quality first-teamers.

Would he strictly be a bit part player? McGoldrick has never relied on his pace; his game is about his raw ability and his intelligence.

He wont lose that over the summer.

That was my thought. Didzy would still be a key player and probably would for several years based on the current squad.
Didz should be bit part in respect that he shouldn?t be playing for 90 minutes week in, week out. He should be subbed 60-70 minutes in with Notts 2/3 to the good? clearly this is the ideal.

Yeah, this was what I was getting at. We can't rely on a 378-year-old to play 90 minutes week in, week out. He'd need to be managed better and not be our sole source of creativity and spark.

To be fair, I can't imagine even Notts giving a contract that long.

Most of them. I don?t think we need a big summer transfer wise, a handful of quality additions focused on midfield.

In the end we finished pretty close to promotion despite IMO having a manager who is well off the standard and all sorts of bad luck with injuries. No need to rip everything up and start again.

Surprised at that, I thought he had expressed a desire to end his playing days with us and that was why he left Derby.

I would imagine he came here after being told how we wanted promotion this season.. It turns out he had been conned, and having to cover various roles in the side, because of the lack of quality.

We did want promotion, we didnt achieve it; big difference. Also, from memory, McGoldrick played in the two positions that got the most out of him; as a striker or a 10. If two counts as various then thats cool, but generally it doesnt.
