I believe we were always lead to understand that the term manager isn't used because of how the club works.
Which is why Notts use the term "Head Coach".
So the Head Coach does just that, coach the team, motivate them and try and get results.
The brothers have said they'll give another statement in due course, maybe this needs to clarify the situation slightly.

Saunders tried to take credit for basically every signing we made in that interview he did after leaving, bloke cannot have it both ways. I have some sympathy for Maynard, but it took five minutes of listening to Saunders to be pretty convinced he is an absolute chancer.
It?s a tricky one. I thought the head coach model was the fashionable one nowadays but if relative no marks like the Saunders and Maynard are complaining about it, it makes you wonder who else we might be putting off?
Im fairly sceptical about the whole thing anyway. Did LW really go in to last season with little say in whether we kept our NL defence or not? I find that hard to believe.
If The Bros have learned anything, I hope it's that it doesn't matter what title you give them, the guy in charge in the dug out on match day needs to be able to inspire, manage and change tack depending on the state of the game. The glove puppet didn't have any of those qualities, he must've thought all his birthdays had come at once when he was offered the Notts job. In my view he was the biggest chancer, but I don't blame him for accepting
