    Now this was a sending off offence - at the end of the video. Wales v New Zealand, Rugby League in 1974.

    If you watch the highlights of the game, it's brutal. I can't believe I used to watch Rugby League on Grandstand in the 1970s and didn't notice some of the stuff going on.

    Sportsmen were much harder/tougher then though.

    I saw an interview with the Welsh player who was sent off, Jim Mills from years later, and he said it wasn't as bad as it looked - he just 'grazed' him!
