Yes, the proclamations from him when he arrived were pretty much that Notts was his last stop. Someone has privately told me that he's 'cleaned his locker out', how true that is I don't know. As others have said, I hope he's simply waiting to see who gets the hot seat because he would be a very, big, miss.
He may have decided to call it a day. He was getting more injuries than not & the [PO game could have been the final straw they makes him say it's over. Would like to think he has a bit more class than going to MK, especially after saying he wanted to finish his career here.
Maybe the club made him an offer that made it clear they wanted him off the wage bill.
I'd have expected the departure and thus availability, of such a high profile player as McG, would have found it's way on to the sports pages by now if true?
A total rebuild in front of the defence is required IMO and the loss of McG would be a critical blow. JJ has been a shadow of himself since his injuries and without him, we have no guile, no spark, all very pedestrian and I'm not the only one with concerns for next season it seems. As I continually say, we're one bad season away from being back in the National League and what we have at our disposal right now, despite 'Stall's' optimism, is mid-table at best IMHO.
We did pretty well without Didzy a couple of years ago! The man is nearly 38 and can't shake his injury problems which means he will probably only be available for half the season anyway. I'm not sure he ever really fit the blueprint and we only signed him because he was so proactive in wanting to come back. If he is on big money, then I trust the bros to reinvest it in someone younger. Thanks for everything Didzy, but we move on.
