    Play-off Final Charlton 1 Leyton Orient F.C. 0

Charlton will be playing Championship football next season with a hard fought but resolute win over Orient in the play-off final at Wembley.

Macaulay Gillesphey was the hero in this historic game after his free kick curled into the back of the next in the first half. Thereafter the contest was very tightly contested. There were no changes to the starting XI that beat Wycombe in the 2nd semi final leg.

In the first half, Orient came closest to scoring though O'Neill's shot was blocked by Kayne Ramsay. The ever lively Tyreece Campbell was brought down by former Add1ck Edmonds-Green and Gillesphey stepped up to take the free kick sending the Add1cks crowd into raptures when his shot curled in.

The second half started quietly with Orient growing into the game pressurising the Charlton goal which lived a charmed life; with a deflection, the cross bar and woodwork all being hit.

The Add1cks on the other hand also had a good chance with Captain Greg Docherty going close on 70 minutes. His deflected shot was tipped over the cross bar by Orient GK Keeley.

The Add1cks saw out an eleven minutes of added time, the delay caused by a fault with the Referee's earpiece, and now return to the Championship after a five year absence. We wish them all the luck for next season and continued success congratulating the players, squad, staff and Nathan Jones on this excellent result and for all their hard work.
