I hope there was a plan in place before they sacked SM, and I'd have thought that if there was, there would be advantages to announcing it early.
I'm still convinced that the owners had already decided to get Luke Williams back when he became available again and this would explain why they never properly replaced the Saunders brothers (saves having to pay anyone else off). This may already be a 'done deal' but they've been holding off announcing it until say 1st June - a logical start date for any new contract. Just my thoughts anyway.

This might also explain why Didzy hasn't yet signed a new deal. Remember his comments about Luke to the Sky reporter after the Bradford away game? ("he didn't let me shoot so often" or words to that effect).

the timing fits doesn't it? I'd totally welcome Luke back (see what he can do with a proper defence), although that stuff about not allowing Didzy to shoot from outside the box hasn't aged very well.

It does and likewise I wouldn't be too upset to see him back. I would expect him to bring Ryan Harley back with him but I'd also love to see Didzy given a player/coach role at the club, possibly even give him the captaincy for his final season(s).

For the "never go back" brigade I'd argue that Jimmy Sirrel's return worked out quite well in the end. And ask Bournemouth fans what they think of Eddie Howe. He's left TWICE for bigger clubs but he's still a legend to them...
