this maybe the truth of it, but doesn't it also imply the owners don't mind leaving the fans and club (and players?) in limbo while they're on the beach?

I hope there was a plan in place before they sacked SM, and I'd have thought that if there was, there would be advantages to announcing it early.

Players may have already been informed. Nemane signed for ages and the media team hid him from view of preseason for a week for a laugh...

It does and likewise I wouldn't be too upset to see him back. I would expect him to bring Ryan Harley back with him but I'd also love to see Didzy given a player/coach role at the club, possibly even give him the captaincy for his final season(s).

For the "never go back" brigade I'd argue that Jimmy Sirrel's return worked out quite well in the end. And ask Bournemouth fans what they think of Eddie Howe. He's left TWICE for bigger clubs but he's still a legend to them...

It's quite reasonable to wait a week or so just to foster an appearance of respectability. The Bros don't appear to me to be the types to want to appear as if they had been underhand in any way? If someone has been appointed they can still be looking at vids and stuff?

They did appoint Burchnall within one day of Ardley leaving, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt that Ardley wasn't their appointment.

Between Burchnall leaving and Williams joining, was 18 days, and Williams leaving and Maynard joining, 13 days, so I'm expecting nothing till mid next week.
