I don't really know what to feel TBH. The only thing I can say is football is all about winning and success, to knowingly accept less is stagnation.
On the plus side we don't have HMRC trying to close us down and we are not turning over owners faster than we turn over managers, so financial infrastructure seems sound.
On the other hand it feels that we do not have a footballing identity. Almost a manager/head coach a year, backroom staff changing, barely a semblance of a dependable core squad. So whilst the business side seems sound the same cannot be said for the footballing side. Chasing value is at the cost of progression and instead of League 1 gates and football with the excitement of maybe getting into the Championship we face yet another season in the basement.
I fear another season without promotion and building the footballing side for future success may start to see a decline in other areas. The club might not rely on my meagre attendance record for survival but I would certainly have been down for more games had more been on offer.
All in all it feels all a bit unstable.

For me, it feels a bit like I was into a relatively little appreciated band years ago that's now sold out and is pumping out bland boring music. They play in front of bigger crowds but the target audience is now younger middle class kids who like safe pop, not anything edgy or dangerous.
I'd disagree. I appreciate Didzy leaving is quite a blow, but let's be fair, since the takeover we've been very stable both on and off the pitch. For me and my time following Notts, the closest we have been in stability terms is under Pavis. Even that was pretty tumultuous at times.
We've been making slow and steady progress more or less every year and recent disappointment aside, I am confident that lessons have been learned and we'll get it right this time with the managerial appointment and new signings.
A little too much hysteria. Maynard is the first real sacking the owners have made. Ardley sacked because Burchnall's availability in the summer was at stake. Burchnall went to a league 1 side, Williams went to the championship. Let's not forget that they bought in players such as Cal Roberts, Ruben Rodrigues, Macaulay Langstaff, need I go on?
We also have a football philosophy, we play football from the back in a patient build up. Maynard couldn't master it but Burchnall and Williams certainly played pretty great stuff
But we are not knowingly accepting less.
Getting rid of Stuart Maynard is proof. It is clear that the target is promotion. The owners want success, but not at any price. That must be the right approach.
The end of season statement when it comes will be interesting. I think they will wait until a new head coach is appointed - that should give us a better picture of their aspirations for next season.
I agree with CBP !! i cant believe the hysteria around at the moment ! FFS we haven't even signed a player that we know off (which is not unusual at this stage of the season) Interviewing and researching managers is also a good thing , far better than fools rushing in !! The way some peoples minds work on here amaze me. Lets wait and see who we sign as a manager and the players, then we can have a grown up discussion about the situation then. 5h1t3 or amazing or some where in between ! who knows ?
Can't see any hysteria apart from those getting hysterical about hysteria.
We've finished in the highest position achieved so far under the current owners, we've moved on from a manager who many supporters felt didn't move us forward with quite the style and speed we wanted, and we offered a new contract to a brilliant but ultimately ageing striker who has decided to go somewhere else, meaning we now have space in the wage budget to seek out some new and probably younger talent. It's life at a football club. Keep calm and carry on.
So why are people moaning about the potential managers on the bookies hot list and now moaning about Didzy leaving bringing up the loss of Crowley and Abbot etc etc ? amongst these mentions there seems to be much criticism of the owners about something that has not even happened !! is that not being a little dramatic ?
