At one point as a very young kid we lived on Magdala Rd and my Mum said "When you go out to play, go down the hill, never go up the hill" "Why Mum?"; after getting a whack around the ear for asking my Mum a question her reply was "There are some strange people living in Mapperley!"

I had a business friend who had to do a curtain measuring up job in Mapperley for a lady customer. All around the house were photos of Freddie Mercury. At the end of the measure up, he said, 'are you a Queen fan then?' - she replied 'I am a little bit, but that's my brother.'

It was Freddie Mercury's sister, living in Mapperley - there are some weird people there.
