Thread: Williams is Favourite [New Head Coach speculation thread]

  1. #551
Why would people prefer Hinshelwood over Williams, because of how Hinshelwood performed this season? In the same league, Williams was head and shoulders above.

We may have started to sink when he left, but we were 5th and we will never know if January would have turned out different with him here. It was Maynard who had us 23rd in the form table for his spell when he took over.

I reckon we are getting Hinshelwood personally.
If you are out of work, you would consider any chance to get back.. There are 92 managerial jobs spread across the leagues, but there are 6 or more times that coaches out of work..

I know these odds are mostly nonsense, but at some point, for a short time, they will reflect reality!
Would prefer Williams out of those 3... but I would really like it to be Evatt.. knows the division and has a bit about him, certainly knows how to build a team

I agree, the Brothers don't have a history of appointing 'dominant' managers. It appears that they like to control them.

I?d say Evatt might be the one out of those first 4 we can get and probably the right one too.
Most of them are out of work and still out of work, for a reason. Everybody is in the running and if the new manager is promised funds to take Notts forward, that should be a carrot to any of them. I just hope we don't get a donkey.

I'm somewhat disappointed that one R. Moniz, who is currently available, isn't in the running.

I'd wager that was not the case with LW, tbh.

I've said it many times, he'd be great under these owners

I hope it is. It's not going back for me it would be a case of picking up from where he left off. He doesn't have an EFL promotion on his CV so why not come here and stand a chance of getting one next season like Evatt, Parkinson and Challinor got one at this level. We are the biggest club in League Two as well, he knows the club and some of the players as well. He had his most successful season as a head coach here and we were 5th when he left with an incredible 57% win ratio winning 48 of his 83 games.

I remember the Morecambe home game on 29th December 2023 where we beat them 5-0 and that was one of LW's last games in charge.

I tend to agree. I will never forget when we played Doncaster at home under the coated one and beat them 2-1. It was such a memorable game of passing, attacking and entertaining football. Bearing in mind it was ten years ago and was a style like nothing seen from Notts at league one level before.
