    Federico Chiesa

You might think I?m mad but I still believe there?s a player in him. He?s ready for a good preseason now, he has stiff competition there at Liverpool, I think we should go and get him if we can.

Decent player. I would have taken him on loan before he went to Liverpool.

He's 27 and getting paid the same as Bruno G. 150 grand a week.

    2016?2022 -Fiorentina 137 (26)
    2020?2022 -Juventus (loan) 44 (10)
    2022?2024 -Juventus 54 (11)
    2024? -Liverpool 6 (0)

Plays left wing and 2nd striker.

Those are not numbers that inspire. For 150,000 quid a week we can do a lot better.

I did hear through the grapevine that he was coming here long before Liverpool were interested in him.

I think EH and co would have got a lot out of him.

He?s a player that has to revive his career and I think he can and will, it?s now or never for him. He?d have to take a wage cut, Tonali would help him settle and he does like to play on the right.

Don?t think Eddie is interested but as the other targets sign for other clubs option are getting less and less.

I'd be astonished if he's even in the top 10 targets for that position.

He's missed 35 matches in the last 2 seasons. Basically missed 50% of matches. 1 whole season.

We all love Callum Wilson but all agree that his injuries means he misses too many game. Signing Chiesa is just as big a liability, if not worse considering the Italian is clawing in 150k a week to warm the injury table. Players don't take wage cuts mid 20s.

At 27, crippling injury record, huge salary demands, this signing goes against every single point of the NUFC recruitment team's check list.

He'd match Joelinton and get paid more (30k - the club need to sort that asap) than Isak (120k/week). The whole leadership ground and senior players in the squad that have taken us to UCL qualification and won us the Carabao would be raging to hear some sicknote Johnny come-lately is gonna match top dollar wages.

Not sure what you mean by 'less and less'? There are a dozen top quality right wingers, younger, better, less money, better fit for NUFC than this washup.

Here are 3 players who are light years ahead of Chiesa. I'd be buzzing should we sign any of them.

    1.Takefusa Kubo - 24yrs old - 41M ?
    RWF specialist.

All quite different in their skills and qualities. They all hit the Eddie Howe criteria. Good lads, do the dirty work off the ball.

All have some work to do to become the finished article. Again the perfect profile of player Eddie and co love. Diamond in the rough that needs polish.

    Chiesa - Hard pass.

Chiesa valued at around 17m. If we're not gonna spend the 40-50 which we have done for most of our successful transfers. Then this geezer might be a more thirifty option.

Evan Guessand - 23 yrs old. He's had a great season in France. Right footer on the right plays 2nd striker as well. 25m.
