    I know of a few public facing websites that are struggling as AI bots are actively crawling through them causing overloads. One of the offenders is Facebook. One remedy for some is to force a login or some form of verification to prevent the bots from getting into the site.

    The crawl speed of Chat GPT is insane. You can rate limit it but it is crawling like 10 pages a second on my own site.

    It is criminal what the heavyweights of the internet are being allowed to do. I know of a couple of hobby sites resorting to Cloudflare for protection. But small businesses who want their products readily found by search engines are being impacted as their sites become inaccessible. Internet destroyers and not only that but all this AI stuff used in this way requires massive data centres, gigawatts of power and reservoirs of water cooling.
