Not much happening on the odds today. How Wiltshire odds shortening when he took the Plymouth job is beyond me. Evatt odds shortened slighty

Evatt seems to have missed out in the latest round of managerial musical chairs. Still don’t think we’ll be able to get him, though.

I am starting to wonder if our DoF is putting these managers off. Imagine discussing his new picks for the squad, who are all massively underwhelming, including a 32 year-old midfielder who was released due to a season ending injury and won't be fit for the start of the season and 6th tier Afghan international. Too right I'm bloody negative about it, anyone with any sense would be.

Ollie Norburn should be playing league one football, he's a step above the likes of Edwards. He's injured but I'm fairly sure the new doctor chap will have assessed him.

As for the "6th tier Afghan international", he's going to be cheap as chips and with Jones and Jatta on international calls ups, will allow us to postpone games on international weekends so we don't have a recurrence of last season when we had to play without Jatta.

That is clever management quite frankly

Not sure about oddschecker but the market is still very much open on BetVictor. Alves back to being 2/1 favourite.

Wonder if there has been a managerial betting market in history where the favourite the day the previous bloke was sacked is still the favourite 4 weeks later.

I fear the latter. If we really had already got the coaching team chosen and were waiting on some legal formalities, there would be movement in the odds or a credible rumour online. No way you can keep this stuff completely silent in this day and age.

We announced the Jatta and Traore signings before visas were arranged, so I don't think it's that either.

It isnt clever to sign anyone not good enough and what if Jones/Jatta get sold or arent called up ?

Looks that way. Feels like it would be a cheap option and gamble even if we were still in the NL, a bit like when we signed Shaun Shields.

If they aren't called up then we have a full first team to play with, if they both are, we lose our main goal scorer and assist maker whilst having to play the game. This guy will be cheap, might be useful squad player and allows us to have games called off
