If we are to be genuine contenders for a promotion push then there is no way that any deals can be done with rivals and I am not being disrespectful to any current division one clubs but if Keillor Dunne is to be moved on it will be to the championship , he is above division 1 quality

Yes I agree Shad, K-D is a very good player and deserving of the Championship and above. I was just being sarky about a move to Bolton but I’m sure there are clubs looking at him so be prepared to fight them off.

    Oxley Radio Sheffield.
Regarding Josh Koroma and links with a summer move to Barnsley, my understanding is that the Reds are interested in signing the 26-year-old winger after the end of his deal at Huddersfield, but face competition from several other clubs.

    He?ll be leaving. IMHO

We?re skint and now have the new DKD funded fan zone to pay for.

I applaud the thinking behind the zone, and as long as the revenue returns to the club then it?s a good thing.

However, when will the playing side come first?

And while I?m visiting temporarily, this new ?super kit deal? we?ve agreed, please don?t let our fashionista part owner get any where near the design phase of the new strips. Otherwise we?ll end up with more appalling outfits that aren?t commercially successful. She needs to but out.

Barnsley Football Club is pleased to confirm the signing of full-back Nathanael Ogbeta on a season-long loan from Plymouth Argyle, subject to EFL registration.

The 24-year-old began his career in Manchester City’s academy before joining Shrewsbury Town in January 2021 on an 18-month deal. The energetic, left-sided player then made a permanent move to Swansea City, where he subsequently enjoyed loan spells at Peterborough United and Bolton Wanderers.

Last summer, the former England U20 international signed a two-year contract with Plymouth Argyle, making 17 Championship appearances during the 2023/24 season.

Upon joining the Reds on loan for the season, Ogbeta said: “I’m delighted to join the Club and I’m looking forward to getting going with the lads.

“Currently, I’m in London because I’m getting married at the weekend! But I’m excited to join the lads next week and getting started.”

Sporting Director Mladen Sormaz commented: “Nathanael joins us with a fantastic pedigree, having played a good number of Championship games last season at Plymouth. His ability to defend, combined with his athleticism, makes him an ideal candidate for Conor’s squad, and we are delighted to have him on board at this early stage of pre-season.”

Head Coach Conor Hourihane added: “I’m really excited by the signing of Nathanael. He has good EFL experience for a player of his age, and he brings depth to the squad, which is essential. He’ll link up with the rest of the squad next week, and we’re delighted to have him here.”

Ogbeta becomes Barnsley’s second signing of the summer, following the arrival of Murphy Cooper on Monday.

    Welcome to Oakwell, Nathanael.

Good signing for you this I think. I was disappointed when Wanderers let him go I’d have liked to have signed him permanently but Evatt decided against it. He’s not the best defensively but is a real handful going forward, plenty of pace and a good crosser of the ball. He’s good in the air too so should be a good acquisition.

Barnsley Football Club is delighted to announce the permanent signing of Reyes Cleary from West Bromwich Albion, subject to EFL registration.
The 21-year-old forward has signed a three-year contract, keeping him at Oakwell until June 2028, with the Club holding the option to extend the deal by a further year.

Cleary arrives in South Yorkshire with an exciting reputation, having risen through the youth ranks at West Brom and impressed during recent loan spells in the EFL and National League. A powerful and versatile attacker, he enjoyed a productive stint at Hartlepool United during the 2024/25 season, netting six goals in 20 appearances and showcasing his development in senior football. Cleary has also made his mark on the international scene, featuring twice for England?s U19s back in 2023.

Sporting Director, Mladen ?ormaz, commented: ?Reyes is a player we?ve been following closely. He fits what we?re looking for ? young, hungry, technically capable and has the physicality required for the football we?ll play under Conor. He?s already shown what he can do at senior level, and we believe there is much more to come. This is a signing that excites us and reflects our continued focus on building a dynamic, progressive squad for the future.?

Head Coach, Conor Hourihane, added: ?I?m thrilled to have Reyes on board. He?s got great attributes - pace, power, and a natural instinct in front of goal. He?s also versatile, which gives us different options across the front line. Most importantly, he?s shown a real desire to be here and be part of what we?re building at Barnsley.?

Reyes Cleary, speaking after putting pen to paper, said: ?I'm really excited to get going. When I found out I had interest from Barnsley, I was excited.

?We?ve got a very young team. The manager trusts younger players.?

    Welcome to Oakwell, Reyes.
