Hillsborough MP Clive Betts has let the "cat out of the bag" about the ground condition, He says Wednesday have considerable work to do on the ground to get a safety certificate and even then it is highly likely that the certificate will exclude the North stand as the roof on that stand is unsafe and needs replacing. Apparently Wednesday have known about this since 2021 and have previously been given a deadline of this summer to complete the work and no work has ever started

Not looking good for Wednesday. Only 9 senior players on the books. Bannon and Kenton not trained with them this week so he may have other clubs.
Usually in this case I feel for the fans but the few we'd fans I know are dicks. I guess there are some decent ones out of the fazens that go

And still safety issues with the North stand due to extensive corrosion. Club is an absolute joke.

    Who is Kenton?

But there's no letter A in Kenton so it can't have been predictive text.......I think you've been caught out cos you've been on cooking sherry again

Was reading through a long thread on Owlstalk about the North Stand yesterday and that was pretty illuminating. A contributor on there is clearly in the know and, I strongly suspect, due to his username, is the same guy who did the engineering design on NYS, has provided some information about what’s needed and why it’s not happening, despite some Wednesday fans denying it and telling him he’s wrong. Biggest thing for me is that the job has been costed at ?3m and the contractors won’t proceed until that money has been deposited in full in the ‘job account’ and as of last night nothing was in there. Six of the cantilever trusses need to be repaired, which must happen, and it was recommended that the whole roof be replaced, but that will be patched up. Work will take at least 6 weeks from the start date, which was supposed to be Monday, but won’t be if the funds aren’t deposited. They have sold well over half the capacity of that stand to ST holders but it will be shut well into the season, so they will need to be moved and the EFL requires 10% of ground capacity for away fans, so another headache on top. As if things weren’t bad enough over there.

You can still buy a season ticket for that stand for approximately 700 quid.

    Oh dear oh dear.

Anybody that pays 700 quid to sit in that stand wants to be certified.
