Thread: Political Thread in memory of David Reid. (R.I.P.)

Having seen the images of violence perpetrated on London's streets yesterday against Antifa and the Metropolitan Police by Union Jack waving supporters of Tommy Robinson I just thank God we have very robust anti-gun laws.

I'm not at all certain what the problem is other than rampant, blatant, racist hate. What are people actually afraid of? Muslims? Boat people? Undocumented arrivals into our not so green and pleasant land? Are white people so afraid of brown or black people? Whatever next?

Why can't we all live together in peace and harmony?

It is the same with all these silly old people wandering around wearing things saying that they support Palestine Action ----arrest them because they are supporting a terrorist organisation.

They will be okay because no doubt Mister Blair will come along and demand their release, he seems to have a love for releasing terrorists and their supporters.
Objecting to genocide and ethnic cleansing should not be a criminal offence. Only Friends of Israel and people who abhor Muslims are against being a supporter of the rights of Palestinians to live in peace in their own land.

Condescending, patronising quote of the day is awarded to Supersub6 for the comment, "these silly old people wandering around wearing things saying that they support Palestine Action". These silly old people have earned the right to protest but Starmer has taken that away from them. Thin end of the wedge and all that.

Sometimes I fear for my own sanity. “My husband laid down his life for me, for our nation, for our children,” Erika said as she stood behind a podium bearing a sign of her late husband’s face with the text: “May Charlie be received into the merciful arms of Jesus, our loving Savior.”

I hope he rests in peace but I hope he gets the opportunity to do irony. Charlie Kirk stood unflinching in the aftermath of the Nashville school shooting which claimed six lives, including those of three children, and defended Americans’ right to bear arms despite mounting public support for stricter gun control laws.

“Having an armed citizenry comes with a price, and that is part of liberty,” he was quoted as saying. “So we need to be very clear that you're not going to get gun deaths to zero … But … I think it's worth it…”

    Let's all hope so.

I can’t think of any instances where mass migration has led to an increase in tensions or worse open hostilities. Am I missing something? Sir Tony Blair was obviously a visionary when he threw open our borders and proclaimed the multicultural society to be in splendour. Have I somehow missed something again? I didn’t notice ordinary families in the hundreds of thousands yesterday in London. Did I miss them? Did we have lots of interviews about whether they support Tommy Robinson or was this just portrayed as a march of the racists? Have I missed something?

You totally missed a racist endeavour Sir Outwood, selective myopia can become a problem. I'm not at all certain even Specsavers can solve that one.

THank you for the award BT. Bottom line is that they were breaking the law and are old enough to know that ---they have earned the right and can't plead ignorance of the law ---hence silly old people who should have more sense.
As far as Starmer taking things away from them. How big a majority does Labour hold?
It is these same people who voted him into power and the majority will also have voted for Brexit.
Have they achieved their objective ----whatever that is? Answers on a first class stamp if you can buy one these days.

I know people who were there BT and they aren’t racists. The crowds were way more than the 120,000 reported. There are always going to be a minority of troublemakers but there has been far more violence at other public events in London than occurred yesterday. Media didn’t mention that. The protests are as much about Starmer now and his utterly flatulent Government.

Me and sinkov admittedly for different reasons, both said Starmer becoming Prime Minister would turn out to be a Rocky Horror Show. We were right.

Since taking office, Sir Kid Starver has been instrumental in failing to formally recognise the state of Palestine or listen to calls to stop British arms sales to Israel, erstwhile facilitating its genocidal assault on Gaza.

He personally enables the enduring barbaric attacks on Gaza, which have generated the largest orphan crisis in modern history alongside the highest global number of child amputees and has put 93 percent of the 1.1 million children living there at acute risk of famine.

    What a guy!

They shall not have our flag! Well said Sir Keir. You have so pugnaciously defended our borders. Your 50 in:50 out deal was a masterstroke. You had Macron’s pants down with that one. And now you have nailed your colours to our flag so to speak. The Union flag and the St George will be saved! Just a tad worried that I haven’t heard of any flights taking off for France yet with returnees. I wonder if the Courts are going to intervene and say we can’t return anyone to France as it is not a safe country. I mean they had to flee from there in rubber dinghies so it sounds dangerous doesn’t it.
