What goes on in Gaza comes back to haunt the UK. Remember Manchester?
Could it be happening again? There are two periods in our history when families were torn apart. Brother was set against brother. The first was the Wars of the Roses which ravaged the country for 30 years. The second was the English Civil War which raged for ten bloody years. Could it be happening again? I already know someone who has been forbidden to see or communicate with his grandchildren by their parents because of his political viewpoint. I have already mentioned how intolerance to everyone and everything is on the march under Starmer. Sir Keir must be worried about his prospects as he dithers while the fires are being lit. Andy Burnham is preening himself in the mirror and the mood of the country is ugly. As I have said in earlier posts, we deserve better than this.
We were in a taxi coming back from the railway station in Bolton on Sunday night and the taxi driver said his two under 10 year old kids are both afraid to go out without him or his mum. Other kids bully them and adults shout abuse at them.
Both children were born at Royal Bolton Hospital, both are British passport holders, both parents were born in England, both kids are in the integrated English primary school system. Dad says his daughter is an outstanding student, his son not so much (sounds a lot like my own two youngest grandkids).
Both children are brown skinned. How did we get to this?![]()
How did we get to this?
I think you know the answer to that BT. Lie after lie after lie after lie. Failed promise, after failed promise, after failed promise. It wasn’t just the criminal gangs that needed dismantling (and there is no evidence that they have even been scratched) but the legal framework of challenge, delay, appeal, fudge. There are sadly so it seems (led by charities) more attempts to prevent any solution. It will if we keep on this road lead to more anger. That makes it worse for everybody and I mean everybody.
.
I’m sort of thinking if Farage and Johnson had left us in Europe this would not be happening. Ironically, Farage is the root cause of the crisis. Sir Kid Starver doesn’t have the proper sized cojones to get anywhere near to solving this problem.![]()
BT, remember that it was not politicians who brought us out of Europe, it was the will of the people as shown in a democratic election. THe majority of elder citizens voted to leave when Cameron boed to the referendum. He resigned as a result of the vote because, quite frankly, there was no plan in place in the event that the vote was to leave.
The citizens vote democratically, however, the politicians, in most cases, just act out of self-interest.
It isn't going to get any better.
If they had left the Common Market as it was working very successfully for the Western European economies we would all be fine. However politicians seeing a successful thing thought why leave it at that. We can create a fully fledged European state expand into Eastern Europe to take on the failed ex Soviet states (needlessly antagonising Russia) and then throw open all the borders. That was a huge mistake and we are now for good or ill out of the EU but not the international mess it has created. Personally I like Europe and European culture but Europe is wobbling (asylum seekers pour into it without much let or hindrance and their safety valve is Calais). There was an immigration lawyer on the news this morning saying the latest legal challenges are inevitable in the issue of fairness. And there we have it because people know fairness has long since gone out of the window. Their own Government is against them and the Courts are telling them they are second class citizens in their own country.
Two flights have now taken off for Paris with the seats reserved for returnees & their escorts empty. Oh dear Sir Keir. It is not laughable. Can it get worse? I think tragically it will.
"The will of the people" will soon be ejecting Sir Kid Starver from Number 10 Downing Street I think Sir Outwood.
