Just to be sure you could have a 30 minute interview with them first, to make sure they're a nice chap or maybe a nice family.

The authorities could give all these compassionate people who 'help', a little added responsibility by making them liable to prosecution if their new housemates commit any crimes. That's if the crime isn't against them and they haven't had their throats slit first.

If you live in a council house, we could make it compulsory for everyone who has a spare room, doesn't have a job and claims benefits. Actually that's a genius idea. You'd have a million people who've never worked in their life, look for a job, any kind of job, immediately.
