Seems clear from Zelensky's latest guarded comments following his meeting with Trump that the Orange One has indeed back peddled on his stance towards Putin. Ukraine wants a "just peace" he said, not merely a "quick peace".

Trump, very obviously, is not prepared to actually follow through and stand up to Putin but the moot point for Zelensky now will be how far the so called "coalition of the willing" will be prepared to go in supporting Ukraine. I can sadly see the war dragging on for some time.

If Trump had any balls or moral compass he would have put pressure on Putin which -given the erosion of both Russia's military capabilities and it's economy-might have indeed led to an end of the conflict. Doubtless any settlement would not have meant Ukraine regaining all of its lost territory but it would also not have meant ceding everything to Putin.

I do agree but many of the NATO Leaders are weaker and cozy up to Putin and still at least 5 purchase Russian Oil which fuels the Russian killing machines. Some NATO countries contribute nothing or next to nothing towards Ukrainian aid or ammo and two of the largest countries supplying aid and ammo as the highest percentage of GDP are the USA and Poland. I don't like Trump more than anyone else but before leaders are slammed we need to look at many gutless and cowardly leaders in Europe include our waste of space Starmer. Even Starmer was slammed by the Italian leader ie he needs to get his house in order in his own country. Too right.

I do agree with Trump on one thing - NATO countries need to stop buying Russian oil forthwith.
