Swansea v Norwich, Sat 25 Oct, 15:00
So what is going on at Swansea in the last few matches. The incredibly lucky draw at Southampton and the turgid home defeat to QPR.
Some statistics, home team first:
Saints: Expected goals 3.26/ 0.21, shots on target 8/1, touches in opp box 42/8
QPR: Expected goals 0.44/2.24, shots on target 2/4, touches in opp box 19/37
In the last two matches we have managed 3 shots on target in three hours and twelve minutes of football
Saints away 98 minutes. Our one shot on target was by sub Casey 90min
Nothing on target in the 89 minutes of normal time.
QPR home 94 minutes. Our two shots on target were by our subs in added time 91min Widell, 92min Vipotnik. Nothing on target in the 90 mins of normal time in a home match, is that a record? It’s certainly a new low.
What formation and tactics are these, especially at home?
We are certainly capable of much better than this. Sheehan is not getting the best out of these players. He got the job on the basis of last seasons impressive run when he was put in temporary charge. He needs to get back to what he did well then, starting tomorrow against Norwich.

At last a home win, courtesy of our in form striker Zan Vipotnik. Two wonderful strikes from him and worth watching the replays.
I’m not pretending everything is right as we reverted to our old ways at times, but it’s amazing what a win can do for the morale of fans and players alike. Consequently, it sets us up nicely for next Wednesday and the Man City clash.
The dreaded clock change occurred last night as they went back an hour, with the only advantage a one off extra hour in bed. Not looking forward to it getting dark earlier though.
To the match. Yesterday was a slight improvement on previous and the points were very welcome, but the same old faults emerged. Huge gaps in midfield, lack of service to the forwards and wide open on the wings. Luckily the opposition, although they retained and passed the ball well, had little or no firepower. A win is a win though and we will take that all day long.

Well here’s the alternative view boys. I thought we were much better yesterday and I also thought Norwich were good in parts, only lacking goals scored, I am sure Manning will turn it around there. Their fans were heckling their players when they came over to them at the end of the match. The Norwich players just stood with their hands at sides and took the abuse which I thought strange.
Second half I noticed that Ronald was doing a fine job of marking their winger to stop him crossing the ball, with Key behind him more central so I was surprised when Ronald was substituted.
