Didn't you used to be a teacher? Jeez....I feel very sorry for your students.

Why do you think they don't release details? Genuine question.... Do you think if there's a stabbing, and they come out immediately and say its a Muslim of Asian ethnicity its going to help the situation and stop riots etc.

How about this one, do you think if the police came out and told you all the information about a suspect that could prejudice a future trial? In this train situation, one of the suspects has been released and sounds like he was maybe arrested in error.

We have due process in this country. Everyone is innocent until proven guilty. Investigations need to happen and evidence needs to be compiled.

For example the police had to release that a migrant from the hotel in Epping has s exually assaulted a little school girl. It was in the public?s interests to know as the school route went past that hotel. Many parents could then decide on lifts/other routes or to be accompanied by an adult. The police are now getting slaughtered as they did not release the ethnicity of the grooming gangs and even Rishi said it was wrong!

Sometimes though it?s not in the publics best interests because it could prejudice a trial!

But how do you define public interest Al? And why?

Why is one crime in the public interest and another isnt? Surely you can use that argument for every crime.

Are we less safe on trains now than last week? I doubt it.

There must be a stabbing a day in Liverpool and mostly by white people given the demographic. You dont see it get released ‘white Christian man stabs…’

We are in danger of society hearing about every crime by non-white people and none of the crimes by whites making the papers. That plays into the right wing hands, who are trying to argue that one part of society are a problem.

Crime happens in deprived areas, whether it’s white, black or brown.
