So, Christmas, the time for peace and good will to all men (other genders are available) or just another excuse for over the top commercialism and self indulgence?

I'd say for 95% of us its a lot more the latter than the former, but given the tenor of the debate on here over the last 12 months over social equality, diversity, inclusiveness and so forth, I rather assume that at least two of us merry band of brothers will be inviting some homeless people or asylum seekers into our homes to share the joy of Christian celebration, good food, mulled wine and the kings speech?

For one, I most certainly will not, but it would be interesting to hear the perspective of the more liberal, caring members of this cross section of society.
