Just because a manager does well at one club doesn’t mean that he’ll do well at another, plenty of examples of that. I hate this ‘sack the manager’ policy when in reality, it’s just a relatively few football matches that haven’t been won. If the critics of Alex Ferguson had been heeded and he’d been sacked by Manchester United, a great manager may never have emerged. I’m not saying that Ryan Mason is going to be a great manager, he could be, but people need a reasonable amount of time to make their mark and there’s no certainty that a replacement would do any better.

Completely agree with this. Frank won one of his first 10 for Brentford.

Neil is a good manager, but he has also been sacked from every club he has been at. Sometimes a manager just really fits a club and sometimes their players are underrated enough to make managers look better than they are. Sometimes it is the other way around.

We know that some managers can pickup a team and immediately implement something that makes the team better. But I dont think I have ever seen a manager pickup a team that cant attack and immediately make them more attacking.

Squad quality or at least having the right composite of players will always be the best determiner of whether a manager is good or bad.

That said, I think Mason has clearly struggled with in game management and tactics. Things wont properly improve until he smartens up around this.
