If it's a waste of time to go into these things properly, then why bother posting anything in the first place?
If you get snarky about people asking questions then that's not very open minded is it? Always carry doubt with you - we shouldn't forget that true scepticism is a success story from Britain from hundreds of years back.
Clearly some people in the public sector do things wrong and for the wrong motivations. Not all do. Some structures work ok, others don't. It's not simple. I'm genuinely interested to know what's going on, I just want proper context. And as it seems you like to look at this stuff a lot I'd hope you be able to consider all the angles and share some proper perspectives. And yes I read the Guardian as well as the FT, Times, BBC, Private Eye, the Conversation, social media, direct reports and evidence from Government, policy papers from all political parties...but what I don't do is take one bit and tell everyone about it as if it's the truth if I'm not prepared to think about the motivation of someone writing it, wider context, and my own knowledge gaps. There's a difference between expressing an opinion that you're willing to change, and sharing headlines to make blunt forthright points and criticising those who don't immediately swallow it whole without you providing a better case for it.
Because I refuse to be silent to the BS we're being fed by our elected officials, Big Pharma and the evil that is referred to as the Deep State.
I have neither the time nor motivation to explain this to people who blindly nod their heads and accept the 'official' lines fed to them.

Has president Trump banned federal financing of gain of function research?
Many people strongly suggest that this is where the Covid 19 pandemic originated.
I think that gain of function is banned in the USA but they were able to fund it abroad.
