    Planning to visit the States?

With the US hosting the upcoming World Cup, they are obviously expecting a large number of visitors that has, apparently, caused their Toddler in Chief to reach for his sharpie again. There are currently reports going around that under new ETAS legislation, visitors to the US may have to grant access to their social media accounts going back up to 5 years. Trump will sell this as helping to protect national security but he will doubtless also use it to help ban any who disagree with him or mock him. It is what he has consistently tried to do with media in his own country after all.

I just wonder if this forum counts as "social media"? If it does, a few of us may come across some difficulty in applying to visit should we wish

Always visit the US for long periods Omeg and yes I will be there as love the Country. Put it this way - Trump is still far more popular amongst the citizens over there than our own gutless weak leader over here with open borders. Social media - always been monitored anyway but nothing to local elections being cancelled in the UK. Is that democratic? I voted against Brexit but hey the majority decided. Perhaps the majority will decide on Reform. The majority decided on Starmer but were wrong in my view although many still love him. Not me but other views are to be respected.

PS - with Estas you can not enter the USA with a criminal record which is correct. With the UK we let in anyone including terrorists and single male illegals who commit rape on school girls ( five in the last month ). Perhaps we should have Estas on those entering the UK like the USA system including photos and finger prints. I completely agree with this from a security perspective as at the moment who knows who is entering our country.

I don't have a problem with the US tightening up procedures for those entering their country Al and am in agreement with you that the UK would do well to follow suite. Just saying that Trump has demonstrated time and again his very open desire to control the media and shut down any dissenting voices and I think he could easily use these new measures (if they come in) to do similar.

Like yourself and many others, I have concerns over Starmer cancelling local elections but when it comes to comparing the two in terms of eroding democratic freedoms, IMHO the tool maker's son doesn't come close.

I would not compare both in any event Omeg but you could go on - local elections - grooming gangs saga - linked political judges presiding over immigration cases - two tier justice system. I could go on. Would you count the democratic freedom of school girls being allowed to wonder freely without being raped by illegals?

The USA Esta system links to a database ie photographs - finger prints - crime and it’s controlled. All those protesting for the nutter group Palestinian Action will now be barred from entering the US. Clearly the Country wants to stop criminals and illegal immigrants to which the majority in any country would back.

Pride in their flag over their too Omeg where over here certain establishments are worried about flying it. So sad as we are officially a Christian Country and should be proud to be British.

As for the media there’s been political bias within the BBC and from that silly woman Fiona Bruce

As mentioned will not throw stones at other leaders when our own leader is weak and pathetic and some areas/cities of our country are becoming unrecognisable. My view and of course any differing views are respected.

And I always pride myself on not having any social media?

But, I probably know deep down inside that I did have one?

This site may not get lots of traffic but it's still public for anybody to view. Like you this is my main social platform used but still...if they want to ban you...they would probably find reason here...🤣🤣🤣🤣

Whilst the USA Esta system works by stopping criminals and those with criminal records our lot say:

The government can't say with accuracy how many visa overstayers there are in Britain - no data has been collated for five-and-a-half years.

Sky News has spoken to immigration lawyers about the numbers, and one believes there could be as many as 400,000 living across the country.

Harjap Singh Bhangal described the situation as a "shambles".

"The Home Office doesn't have any accurate data because we don't have exit controls. It's a shambles

Spot on. No reason at all or evidence to back their reason up.

Back to the golden Trumpet. We most likely would have gone out to the States for some WC games next year but will not now. There is no way I would go to that country with an egotistical, misogynistic coward as President. Not my words but words of a relative who resides in the States.
