    Big Joe - Sale?

Seen today there is interest in Saudi for Big Joe, now obviously Howe has said he doesn't want him sold.

However, apperently if we can use the funds to make 2 big first team signings we'd be willing to do business.

    Should we do it?

Positives - He's 30, his style of play may not last much longer and then he becomes a tad of a liability at times on pitch. If we can replace with 2 good younger players and use it to put Miley more consistently into the centre, or Ramsey etc.

Negatives - he's a massive squad personality and mid-season might not be best time to further disrupt the squad.

    Interested in others thoughts.

No way. Hes SO much better than Ramsey, hes precense made us dominate the midfield when he came on toninght, at OT. Even though he didnt win every duel, his effort made us win a hell of a lot more 2nd balls. Hes passing was also better than Ramsey.

If we sell him, we need to have a better player lined up to sign.

Our best midfield is still Joelinton, Tonali, Bruno.

If a decent offer comes in, I know the club are minded to sell.

I'd rather keep him until the Summer but his decline has, as pointed out by someone earlier, been quite marked.

Except for Tino, Miley, Hall, Tonali and maybe Bruno - I would sell anyone for a good and fair price.

Gordon, Barnes, Woltemade, Wissa, Elanga... any feckin one. There is so many players out there that is better.

    Short answer - yes.

Money talks, if the price is right then why not. We could reinvest in someone young.

The name of the game is consistency and discipline.

We haven't seen enough of Wissa to know if he's consistent or not. Looking at his Brentford days, he's shown to be a goal scorer.

Woltemade has show he can score goals when he's given the ball and given the ability to play in the box.

Away from home this season, Nick has had neither the ball or the time in the box due to the miserable lack of playmaking in the squad.

Barnes handed in a transfer request. Gordon hasn't shown consistency this season, so wouldn't be heart broken if either or both went.

They've talked a lot about player trading. Players come and go. No.14's departure was a painful break up for most fans. I guess it'll get easier going forward.

There is a certain expectation that Tonali will leave. Sooner that people get used to it the better.

There will be a core like Bruno that will show loyalty and those who won't.

IMO theres no player unsellable at the right price....and it will have to happen to them all at some point if we want progress. The players Viking names are perhaps untouchable currently and I would include Bruno and Thaiw.

I think EH needs to expand his thinking tactically. His plan A is a good one but we need a B and even a C. Subs are puzzling, for example last night why take off a 6ft 6 CF against a team widely acknowledged weak against set pieces up against 6 defenders clearly signalling they were sitting back.

Eddie has to answer these questions, with on hands action and results.

I belive Gordon and Barnes can play together. I have seen Gordon play well on the right. Barnes has the best shot, so he should play left. If you can make the hopeless striker J7 one of the best CMs, you can make Gordon good on the right.

He also has to tell Woltemade to stop dropping deep, only to lose the ball. Its a risky way to play. He need to stay up, and be ready to enter the box. Then we need movment from midfield, that arrive later in the box, to back up Woltemade and pick up the scraps or over/under hit crosses.
