If TS sells Nombe over MH head following his recent statement on Nombe and this window, I would hope MH has the integrity to walk away. This isn't questioning his integrity at all, I am sure he is a man with great integrity, I am just saying in that situation I would hope he demonstrates it. As for a number of TS does sell him anything less than ?2m would be bad business being their stated business model is to buy young talent and sell for a profit, and him being sold for that in the summer would make sense. Being that at the moment we are letting Joe Powell walk away for NOTHING I have little faith in our board to do the right thing.

Not being funny Derby but in what world do you get 2m for Nombe? I think you have to be realistic in what you expect and the longer you leave it the more the players contracts run down and so does their value. Nobody’s saying you have to sell and nobody’s saying you’d accept an 800k bid but I think you need to be realistic in what you ask for or risk losing the player for nothing if he runs his contract down, or in Sam’s case gets injured again. Trust me we know all about over paying for players under Evatt but that won’t happen again so if we’ve made an offer it’s then up to you. Hadn’t heard you were letting Joe Powell leave, especially for nothing but I’d think that would be a bigger mistake than selling Nombe?

His market value is around ?750k. He's under contract until 2027, and there's no desire to sell him.

On what planet do clubs sell players at roughly their market value if they're not trying to part ways? You pay a premium to break a player out 18 months early. Leverage based on contract length means very little until you're into a final year.

We aren't 'letting' Powell go, he's out of contract in the summer, we've no idea if he has or hasn't been offered a new contract yet, but either way he hasn't signed one yet. None of us know which way that will go at the moment.

Sorry have you not seen the way the club has dealt with out of contract players over the years? Of course you are correct that we do not have all the facts, but you can say that about any situation at the club, so do we all stop posting opinions and speculation and wait for documented club statements? This is a discussion board and as such we should use it for discussion, which will include speculation and opinions. What we do know is that his contract ends at the end of the season, we do know he has been one of our most consistent performers, with good or decent stats over his time at the club. He is a L1 footballer so he makes mistakes, he isn't perfect but who is? We do know that the club has previously stated in the press when it is looking to offer new contracts, and it hasn't published anything related to JPs situation. I do not think it is unreasonable for fans to speculate that at this time contract negotiations have not taken place. Our players under contract are assets to the club, we don't have many assets and so you would think that managing those assets would be important and not left to the last minute. Is it so unreasonable for fans to expect assets that have the potential to be sold and provide the club some income, should be managed well? After all how we approach these matters is within our control, even if the outcome is not.

Sorry, but could you point out where I said it's unreasonable to speculate or discuss? BarnsleyWhites said he didn't know we were letting Joe Powell go, and I merely said we aren't letting him go and we don't know what's happening yet. I just posted something that was true as far as I know it, if you want to speculate about stuff, knock yourself out.
