Yet this is the man who wants to be prime minister. A man who called for by-elections for party defectors before the General Election yet now does the opposite after. And a man who claims Britain is broken even though more than half of his MPs were part of the very government that broke it.

What a shambles of an MP and what a shambles of a party.
He was called out this week in an interview about the by election. He said it was 12 years since he said that, they pointed out that wasn't true and its only a couple if years since he said so in an interview, his response was well we aren't doing it.

The 380k is a scandal. That him and the media were all over Rayner to resign for her administration error, and its barely been mentioned about farage.

He should resign but he wont.

Ta for the reply on TTR AF, much apprceiated.

This one to rA is, IMO, out of step with the tone and feel of rAs post. Line 1. I think the you isn't referring to AF but to moderators in general. Line 2 reinforces that thought. Line 3 shows that it's a lighhearted post. I see it as an over reaction.

Back to the politics. Fantaface strikes again. Following his verbal slurry of a word salad, later in the day he announced his Board of Peace. To join countries have to deposite ONE BILLION DOLLARS. Will much of that money end up in the Fantaface not so secret account in Qatar? It wouldn't surprise me.

Then he went many miles too far when he said NATO troops weren't on the front line in Afghanistan. Fact - 457 UK soldiers died. Fact - 2200 UK soldiers wounded, many seriously so. The vast majority of those were in Helmond Province, the Taliban stronghold. That was the frontest of front lines. His words are as disrespectful as you can get to service personnel. Trump's grandfather left Germany to avoid national service and he was later permanently banned from Germany for failing to have done his national service. Trump's Dad never served in WW2 as he was in construction building homes and barracks which allowed him to avoid call up. Fantaface himself avoided call up 5 times due to heel bone spurs, the presence of which can't be proven or disproven.

Fantaface ought to apologise, he won't.

Some time back with briefly looked at the future of public schools and the cost of such education. Sad to say my alma mater announced that its to close its doors after 100 years this autumn. Flagging demand for private education post COVID, particularly from overseas students, was the primary underlying cause and the 20% VAT hike the straw that broke the camel's back. To be honest I dont really have any afiliation with the place any more, but if this is typical I hope a largeproportion of the new VAT revenue is being put into state education budget otherwise that system will become (even more?) stressed with new pupils.

That it has probably destroyed an entire village community that was dependent on it for 175 jobs is merely collateral damage I suppose, but hey, equality of opportunity is further enhanced by some more levelling gown.

thanks RP, I'd accept your observations if they related to anyone else but rA, who's been on my case regarding moderator issues for many years.

What do we think about the possibility of Burnham running for MP? Noises are if he gets in could be lined up to replace Starmer.

Looking at the polls it looks close between Labour and Reform. Will he need a safer seat as won't look good if he fails at the first hurdle (Although Farage failed several times before)

Personally if Starmer were to be replaced id rather have seen Rayner in his place but I suspect the media's witch hunt on her was their acknowledgement she would be a popular choice for PM.

On TTR, Hope he is just taking a break. No secret we don't often see eye to eye but I hope all is OK with him.
