    Ollie Bostock on Loan

Seems this news is getting louder. What with Grants injury, Wallace having no legs and plus Junior being underwhelming to say the least - if they let Bostock go then Nestor and Ramsay are fkin morons.

Clearly Ramsay has not bothered to see the Swansea match or done any research on Bostock because he failed to make the bench v Derby. The overweight Chuckle Brothers in Dike and Maja were favoured along with Wallace and all three should be shown the door in June.

Seems like people ( Nestor ) with white coats are running the asylum. Pathetic if true!

I dont think he is ready Al. He looked lost in the cup, but redeemed it with an assist and the penalty. He needs a loan; no doubt he will come back more developed.

Totally disagree. He came on for minutes at Millwall and did loads more than Wallace which is not difficult. Wallace is past it and hope we are not paying more than 10K a week for Junior as he can?t be worth any more. Boro fans said he was complete s hite too!

Hope an ambitious club come in for not only Bostock but Williams too! I really do.

He had about 4 minutes against Millwall, at the end of the match when legs were tired.

Wallace is a fair bit ahead of him at the minute but people dont want to recognise that because of the wage he is on and his age. His finish in the cup was significantly more noteworthy than the assist which Bostock didnt look up for.

I dont rate Junior either, but he isnt shocking at LWB and thats not where Bostock plays. I expect we will get a left winger on loan in the next few days. We are linked with Jimoh from Villa who was a kid for us that they poached and he looks decent.

Whitwell is much closer for being ready for this level and I hope he gets minutes.

15 to 17 years olds are being played in the Premier and deemed ready. Sunderland were promoted mainly due to young pacey players and do you remember when they came to us under CC and out footballed us. Wallace is ok to bring on as a sub but he?s slower than Mowatt.

Lose to Portsmouth and the panic will set in! Any loans will be like Nestors managerial appointments - cheap with an upper case C

I tend to agree with Matt's assessment in that Bostock would benefit more from being out on loan where he would very likely play regular games rather than train here with the first team and then mostly warm the bench but needs must. In an ideal world, all our promising youngsters would go out on loan to aid their development but given the current lack of depth in our squad, we may need them back at home to bolster options. Surely that is why Alex Williams was recalled and why both Bostock and Whitwell got their chances in the cup game?

I don't think that Bostock is ready to start for us yet either and he may undoubtedly be quicker than Wallace, for example, and show flashes of potential but he hasn't Wallace's experience in terms of reading the game which will hamper the impact he can have. Jed hasn't the legs to play 90 minutes but his experience has shown that he can have an impact on games.

Nevertheless, given our situation, I still think Ollie is worth retaining and bringing on as an option and will have to "learn on the job". His minutes in the cup game showed both his inexperience and his potential and he kept his head with the penalty. I'd certainly like to see Ramsay begin to give him more regular minutes to see what he can do, along with Whitwell.

Again, I agree with all the observations that you have made. With the lack of depth in our squad we need the likes of Bostock, Whitwell and Williams. Regarding Wallace, as you say, not a ninety minutes player but does have an impact when he is brought on. He still has quality and his value cannot be underestimated.

Surely, though, with Grant injured, we have to keep Bostock?

You would have thought so Ketts! -Unless, of course, they can find a decent winger to come in on loan but what are the chances of that?

I said it before, if youre good enough youre old enough but first youve got to be good enough. I dont agree with playing a player just because they are young.

I dont doubt Bostock is a talent but hes a bit off affecting a mens championship game week after week. You could see that in the hour he played in the cup where he was mostly anonymous.

I remember when Fellows made his debut under Val and he looked a fish out of water. One season loan to league 2 and he comes back ready. Thats what Bostock needs and what Whitwell needed.
