    Who Would You Keep?

All these players are out of contract at the end of this season and are on big wages. Who would you keep?

    Daryl Dike - Get rid
    Josh Maja. ... Get rid
Karlan Grant. ...Only keep if wage is lowered
    Jed Wallace. ... Get rid
    Ousmane Diakite. ...Keep
    Joe Wildsmith. ...Get rid
    Max O'Leary?. Get rid

Grant is certainly not worth his 20K a week as there?s no end product and for that wage there?s better out there!

I would keep O’Leary as back up to Griffiths and possibly Wallace but on a revised deal, lower wages..

The problem is Wallace is on around 25/30K a week so can?t be worth more than 10k a week if you consider his injury record and minutes he plays. Ollie Bostock in comparison will not be on more than 1,000 a week and for me he?s a better player!

To think we were paying Junior around 50K a week and he?s utter s hite.

I wouldnt keep Diakite. There is a player in there but centre midfield needs a big improvement and Mowatt, Mulumby and Whitwell take up three of the four slots.

Grant is a good player on his day but his injuries this season and his wages mean he should go.

I agree Matt. That said everything should be looked at in terms of wage v ability and Diakite is not even on 8K a week. So you look at Diakite for example on 8K a week and garbage like Junior was on a wage of around 50K a week. Again that?s why more emphasis should be placed on kids and getting them minutes - look at Bostock not even on 1K a week and Wallace is on 25K a week. I would get it if Wallace for example was like Ronaldo compared to Bostock on the wage difference but many would rather see Bostock start rather than Wallace or at least giving him the opportunity!

As it stands, the only one I would extend their contract for would be Diakite.

So much depends though on who we have in our sights for the summer transfer window. If the squad looks too thin I might be tempted to look at Grant but it would have to be on a reduced wage. Love his desire and work rate but far too little end product. Unless a miracle happens and Dike or Maja start banging in goals they will be gone along with Wildsmith. Jury still out on O'Leary IMHO. His distribution is much better than Josh's but that clanger didn't help his cause. Too early to tell at the moment.

As for Jed, he is never going to play 90 mins anymore but if we need someone as a squad filler who can come on and make an impact perhaps a limited contract on reduced wages. Can't see it though tbh and whilst his experience and professionalism may indeed make him a useful player to have around our younger ones we need to reduce the age of the squad and give the likes of Bostock their opportunities.

There seems to be something wrong at West Brom, we seemingly got rid of all the bad eggs last summer but still this inability to show fight, passion, commitment etc still exists, can?t be all the players fault surely, no doubt we?ll all find out in 10 years time when someone writes a book

One of our major problems is our lack of trust in our young players. Can anybody explain to me why, when so many of our regular players are not performing, are they not given a chance. Also, I could never understand why we sold Caleb Taylor to Millwall, a huge mistake in my opinion. Someone has to take the blame for this. What worries me is that Ramsay does not show the inclination to play the youngsters either. Other clubs are prepared to do it, so why not us?

On the subject of Taylor, we could certainly do with him now. My next point may differ to what I have already said but I would try and re-sign Craig Dawson on a short term contract as we certainly need him with our lack of central defenders.

I have always maintained that selling Taylor was an act of gross stupidity. How we could do with him now. This club has been run so badly, we deserve to go down, although I hope we don’t!
