    Gordon

He's on 10 goals for the Champions League currently.

Puts him the 2nd top scorer in the comp.

    3 behind M'bappe.

Should have had at least two more, as well.

He's hard to work out tbh.

Clearly a very talented player but something's got into his head. I think he's a player who needs to feel loved, wanted, valued and I definitely think us trying to flog him to LiVARpool that time (which, by the way, we definitely did) has been a sticking point ever since.

The Champions League is more similar to European football than it is to the Prem and I think that suits him more,

Well he's said it himself - in Europe players are given space, which you don't get in prem.

This lets him run, which is a strength of his.

Also - just seen, he's now our record CL appearance holder, taken over from Shay Given.

Great to see Gordon and Tripps doing the interview at the end, too.

Yeah it's better than he gets space in Europe. However, he's a Premier League player primarily. We've seen with Elanga v City in the cup that fast players have to do more than just run to be consistently quality.

He's started to enjoy the smell of his own farts. That daft headband, he's from Mersey side not Madrid. Daft.

When players get back to basics and realise that winners grind. CR7, a love/hate figure. However, regardless of whether it's a major final or away to a team 15th in the league on a Wednesday night the man turns up, banged in goals and did his job.

That's why he is 100% in the conversation to be the best player in Football history.

Have to agree with Raga here.

As brilliant as Gordon can be, and his season in the Champions League shows it, he can also look like he doesn't give af, mainly in the Prem games where things aren't going well for him. A lot of players react like that, but it means you're not contributing when the going gets rough.

We need him to perform in all competitions, not just one. I hope we can make it work with him, an in-form, consistently performing Gordon is a true asset to the club.

And well done to him last night, nonetheless!

When he turned up, he was a hungry determined young man with a chip on his shoulder and a point to prove. With the England caps, Cup win and Howe putting him in the top group of players in the squad it appears that he's forgotten his roots.

Being brilliant in one game in 3 isn't good enough. I prefer players who are gonna give you 7/10 every game rather than a 9/10 once in a blue moon whilst the same player 'doesn't feel it' 4-5 games in a row.

I do hope that the inquiry they had after the Brentford match, which seems to have improved things, sees a return to high standards.

That being said, the change in formation has improved things as well but does spread the squad thin with Gordon playing up top it get's him Barnes into the team which is great but reduces the LW cover. However, that's a different debate for a different thread.

He is a young lad. He will make mistakes but the talent is there. He just needs to be consistent and give a fk in every game. This will make him world class. It's what teams like Real look for and pay 100m plus for. He is our most exciting player when on it.

It's a dip in form but the lad looks like he's turned the corner, got his head back in the game.

If he's a big game player. None bigger than City away!

    HOWAY THE LADS!
