Tepid weak ineffective team second half. That also describes the coach. Its not his team they said, injuries they said. He needs time they said. The great MH lie well I hope the ones who bought into the lie are happy now.
The worst manager we have ever had. Hes been impersonating a manager and should be embarrassed because hes a failure that is clear. Every excuse in the book they have run out now. GET HIM GONE.
Can?t really be bothered to comment on the game but I see Plymouth beat Real Madrid 5-2 today.
Aside of Dawson, once the second half came and donny swarmed forward it showed we only has to make one midfield change taking a holding tracking player off to one that cannot (and who cannot pass) track, and we had a hole on one side and play break down.
Formation argument does not hold water. It is the players. First half was even. We got forward better than we had for weeks.
Nothing wrong with 443.
We moved back and forth easily.
However, the substitution and or what was said at half time, donny making changes and massing forward, and we looked a different side.
Dawson was just the icing on the cake, always an accident waiting.
Great start, good first half. Motivated, crowd behind them, worked for each other and some decent creative play from Watmore and Benson. Back four (YES... it's happened!) looked rock solid. Deserved at least a goal lead at the break.
However...
Gray was noticeably pulling away from far too many challenges and looked lost in that position. Nombe didn't have his best game (not overly critical, but it was a 6/10 performance). And then the second half... Abysmal to allow an obvious tempo change from them to dominate how the game went. Players and/or manager at fault. Needed to come out like we were defending our L1 status, not just a lead, and we didn't. Sh**show on many fronts.
Effort and tempo dipped. Formation disappeared. Silly mistakes crept in (and led to both goals). Fans arguing with each other. Painful because you always sensed it was coming but hoped to be wrong.
That's the winnable games done with and the six points we could have had this week are pissed away in time to play two we're pinned on to lose.
Pretty much as I saw it, very good first half with good pressing and some good interplay, but as I said to daughter, the key players in this 1st half were clearly Benson and Watmore, who were always going to struggle as the game wore on. And this was paired with the fact that the Rovers manager could see that Sharp wasn't the answer to unlocking our defence and was able to make the ***** change to bring on pace and play on the front foot leading to our key errors.
I don't agree with MH's assessment that it was just the two mistakes that cost us. Thei manager could see what needed to be done, and did it to produce the outcome. MH had no answer to it as confidence faded alongside Benson and Watmore. Jules don in pre match warm up and McWilliams was punished for his rare good half by picking up a calf injury. Two more to the list.
Depressing and I can't see any way out for the manager after that, shame as we saw a glimmer of light and hope in that first half, but the fact that he had no answers to Rovers' switch at half time says it all. I've hoped he'd make it through but it looks like hope has pretty much gone for him, and likely us.
Started off better but still have the ball away too easily. Thought Benson, Whatmore and Adeboy looked our best taking nothing away from Gray. Almost all the others really average just not good enough.
Doubt well get a point from Bradford or Argyle.
Lots of empty seats and was the crowd really 10000?
Dire again and the guy who trains em, picks em, tells em how to play should go!
