I see now on several social media posts that we fans have the right to express ourselves since we pay, and the abuse only started after the window closed.
I also have a kid that I support. And I too feel the right to express myself if he don?t do as I expect. I don?t abuse him though, and if anyone thinks that abuse is the best way to get others to be their best, then I can just inform you that you are mistaken. Abuse is simply not support.

Not sure what you are getting at. I have been going on the Turf since 1952 and have NEVER shouted abuse at any player, Claret or opponent, because it is totally unnecessary.
All I was doing was pointing out that the Chairman is correct because it has always been the case that some fans will pick out a player and he becomes a scapegoat. In recent times, Marney, Hendrick and McNeil have received their fair share of abuse ---- there have been so many more over the last 74 years. Marney's first season here was ridiculous because so many fans didn't realise just what a good player he was and it only became apparent the season that he picked up the injury.

Support is what is needed, certainly not abuse!

There have been and always will be boo-boys at BFC and practically every other club. The ire of fans when results are poor will usually be directed at the Board/the manager/some of the players. I am like you Supersub in emphasising the support in the word supporter but we all have our own criticisms of the way a club is owned or managed or indeed the shortcomings of individual players. For instance imo Scott Parker has achieved better PL results with Burnley than his predecessor Vincent Kompany with a squad that many have said is inferior to the one VK managed. Suffice to say that there have been plenty of comments that Scott is a Championship manager at best and totally out of his depth in the EPL. VK had the great fortune to depart Burnley for the splendours of Bayern Munich where he immediately led them to a Bundesliga title. Fine margins as they say.

You are grasping at straws with the likes of Bamford, Weghorst, Assignon, Vydra and Amdouni they hardly kicked a ball in anger and have gone on to do nothing playing in farmers leagues.
All of those players improved ballcock Weghorst who I said was wasted here scored on the World Cup Amdouni played the champions league and scored for Bemfica ( but I was constantly told he?s **** here ).

Austin scored lots of goals for QPR -,Ings went to Liverpool and without his injuries would have been amazing - Tripier ( I shouldn?t even have to say anything )

Bamford was one of the biggest mistakes for me he had brilliant balance vision and could beat a man not touching the ball ( he had a good career at top level though )

The others are plying their trade in or have been so must be improving or clubs wouldn?t have bought them when we were relegated

Much as I don?t like to do it I will criticise some players however I always say ( and you can check back ) that to even reach the level of football they?re at you have to be special and have something more than I / you ever had anyway or we?d have been doing it.

As for Outwood?s VK comment I?d say he was one of the best centre backs in the world and had a clear vision of how he wanted to play football - we benefited from that in year 1 but failed when we didn?t have the players to deliver his vision at the highest level.

Once again he was **** on here , but one of the biggest clubs in world football thought he could apply his ideas with better players took a chance - the best is history as they say ( we also got 10 million file our troubles ).

It?s just opinions of course football - the problem we have at Burnley is getting players that can do what we?ll want fit a third of the money elsewhere- the premier league has improved and is still improving year on year - competing is a problem.

My thing is it hasn?t changed in all the 50 years or so I?ve watched from a kid - we find gems but eventually the bigger clubs take them - but I always think those who are with us are here for a reason if our forward scored 15 goals at this level a team would take him because that?s how it is.

The simple truth is football fans pay their money to watch their team and if they don't feel as a collective they are getting value for money the $hit hits the fan.

I was at the London Stadium when we ripped the Irons a new arse and if Pace thinks the fans are toxic at Turf Moor he should have been in Stratford on that particular day.

Supersub6 will confirm when things are not going well for the Toon their fans are not exactly what you might call "understanding".

It is what it is. We pay our money and can express our happiness or despair however we want.

Amoundi was such a gem that Benifica didn't want him, they shipped him back to us when his season loan finished.

Out of the list of players Army mentioned, I would say that Trippier is the only one whoes career took a massive upwards swing. Burnley most certainly improved Trippier and was instrumental in making him the player that he is today

Fans always get delusional and are extremely negative towards the club when things aren't going well. Burnley for a town with a population of 85k and within a 50 mile radius of 20 FL clubs have done remarkably well over the last 25 years and credit should be given, instead of all this negative clap trap spouted by glass eaf empty fans

I was there at the London stadium that day. Pace hasn't a bloody clue, if he owned any of the other Premier league clubs, he would have been thrown to the dogs by now, especially after his childish outbursts over the last few weeks.

I’m not criticising you Sub. Sorry if I’m not expressing myself as I intend. I agree with you. But many supporters think it’s their right to hurl abuse. It doesn’t matter if others are even worse. If someone thinks they are supporters but hurl abuse they are not supporting but tearing down what needs to be built.

Exactly, WillPark, however, this is where human frailties come into play and these days it seems much worse than it used to be. I know not why that is the case, however, money may have a lot to do with it.

No doubt about it SS, the abuse directed at players taking a corner kick is disgusting. When I started watching BFC many years ago
Burnley fans would applaud particularly good play by an opposing player. I always stood on the Beehole/Enclosure corner and I remember a NF player called Sailor Brown beating two men in a brilliant dribble in the corner-spontaneous applause by the Burnley fans.

Talk about developing players, BOMO/Glint seem to have the man who can do it. A town of 20,000 somewhere inside the Arctic circle
beat Inter for the second time today having previously beaten Man City and Athletico Madrid.
