If you research muscle injuries in football, there have been a significant increase since 2001 and yet again another significant increase since 2020. Now there are various factors for that proposed in the research but certainly key factors are player preparation routines and the way injuries are treated, especially in the first 48 hours. So if our club has not changed the way it prepares players and if the club is not adapting to this change in the way it deals with such injuries, it is highly likely that we would suffer an increase in injuries, recurring injuries and longer recovery times. When our head of club operations, has no idea about it and has left it to the people on the ground, when we have key roles missing or temporary staff in place, it is not hard to see why we have suffered like we have. A complete lack of duty of care, from top to bottom, it isn?t just MH but he is part of a bigger problem.
