Take the shackles off. Set us up from the first second to take the game to the opposition. If we lose, we've had a go and given the opposition a game, I'll accept that. This meek excuse of setting us up with getting outnumbered in the middle of the park, inverted wingers, a sweeper keeper, mobile "defenders" and wingbacks get it binned.

Agree. I'm on the fence. He hasn't really done enough to warrant being sacked but his tactics are murder. Too negative, obsessed about how opposition play and setup, too many slow starts and never really got to grips with defensive problems. Now there is nothing to play for FFS Jim stop being cautious and go for it in matches like we saw glimpses off early in the season and the more expansive football we were promised.

With Robinson heading to the sheep....I wouldn't be surprised to see Goodwin heading to the ST Mirren again at the end of the season.

Sheep have confirmed the hammer thrower in chief this morning.
I think Goodwin would be interested in the St. Mrn vacancy, a chance for a new start back on the West coast.
Will they be interested in him though?

I doubt they'll want him while they are still in the cup

I've been on the fence about what is best thing to do with JG.
I've never been fully convinced by him from day one but last season was without doubt credit in the bank for him .
So even though this season has been a disappointment I've been undecided if sacking him was the correct thing to do or if it would have only made things worse so the lesser of 2 evils would have him remain and try sort thigs out .

I think now after watching that late collapse yesterday its pretty clear he needs to be replaced and preferably now .
We wont be dragged in to the bottom 2 spots so it would make sense to have a new man on board to give him as much time to prep for next season , the last thing you want is to have a scenario that you seen across the road with a new manager coming in and not having time to assemble a side , to prepare properly then needing months to get the team up to speed.
Worst case scenario he should go as soon as the season ends IMO.

The bottom line is that team crumble whenever any kind of questions are asked of them and it showed again yesterday.
That's HIS side , he's had plenty time to sort out the very obvious issues yet the minute any sort of sustained pressure was put on them yesterday they just buckled.
I thought the game was pretty evenly and finely balanced in that first half with the best chance falling to us and I'm sorry but that header HAS to hit the target .

Second half i felt we were by far the better side and once the first goal went in I felt there was only going to be one winner.
On the Pk itself I think the officials have done us a a bit of a favour there and had that been awarded against us I would have been absolutely fuming particularly given they were denied what looked like an absolute Stomwewaller in the first half ,so those 2 massive VAR calls have went our way .

That gives us the momentum in the game and once the 2nd goes in I think most of us are thinking its now a matter of by how many we win this by.

My first bit of doubt snuck in when Maynard-Brewer took a brain-fart and ran out his area needlessly, for me THAT was the moment things turned in the match. Even then though I couldn't have foreseen what was about to happen .

Even after they pull one back we still should be seeing that game out and its absolutely inexcusable that we didn't , terrible game management from the player and manager alike .
Ross had a good game but he has completely lost the plot in the dying moments that has cost us big time.
Firstly its a crude and needless challenge , complete lack of discipline at a time we need to just see it out that allows them the chance to put a last bit of pressure on our backline .
He's walking away laughing and joking and simply not switched on . I don't know if he felt the game was over but it most certainly wasn't and what on earth he's doing with that header I will never know.

The bottom line is if isn't Ross it would be someone else the next time , its a recurring theme that hasn't been addressed and that I'm afraid is down to the manager and coaching staff .

Its time for Jim to go .

We need a root and branch review of what has happened this season. This may not be as simple as changing manager. Are we just merely being used as some sort of system to try and get the owner some of his lost money back? Are we any closer to seeing the benefits of our academy stepping into the first team? What is the plan for next season, a change of direction or are we going to be going to look at flipping some foreign players to make some money? Why have we been allowed to stagnate rather than build on what we have? What does the manager see as the problem, is it the budget, is it the quality of the signings, is it inexperience? What do the players think is the problem, is it the coaching, is it the tactics, is it their teammates?
Maybe the root of the problem is with JG, maybe it lies with the players or maybe it lies with the way the club is run. My guess it is a mix of all these and I personally don't think that binning JG fixes the problem.
We are a club that would 100% benefit with a director of football, someone with experience that can be the buffer between the owner, the manager, the players and the fans. Someone that gets the club and the expectations of the fans. I am not convinced that our owner fully understands the running of a football team other than the balance sheet. I think the manager needs to be able to concentrate on the team without having to keep going cap in hand to the owner. I am not sure that the owner gets that sometimes you aren't going to get a return on some of your investments.

I don't think any of the hand balls were penalties, including ours. What happened yesterday at the end was criminal, especially after Easter road, and we had Killie in their too much he past month. Much worse yesterday as we were so far on top but failed to get a third. I thought we got a bit casual the last 5 mins.

I'd happy get rid of every one of our centre halves and keeper. That's where the manager has failed, with his recruitment and assembling of that defence which has no leaders and can't defend set plays. Would a new manager be able to organise them better and get a tune out them? Or are they just bad defenders. Probably the later tbh, though if you got a decent leader/organiser in there, and a commanding keeper, it might pull up some of the others.

Within the matchplay yesterday I don't think the manager did a huge amount wrong, surely on the players to see out a 2 goal lead with minutes to go, absolute non sensical to just kick the ball back straight back to your opponents front the kick off.

I think a lot of the fan base have turned to the point now where they just see everything through a Goodwin out lense so it doesn't matter what he does, even before the match yesterday as soon as team lines gets announced people are acting as though he has picked the worst team ever and left Messi and Ronaldo on the bench. When you get to that stage it's hard to turn round.

Probably 99% of us would sign up for season to end now. Manager prob would too, as he clearly wants to replace the personel, probably not creating a good atmosphere to go with that of the support.
