Trump has backed off on his threat to destroy power infrastructure in Iran thank goodness, claiming "productive talks with Iran".

Translation, oh ****, if he orders that, Iran will wreak havoc on power and water plants acorss the Gulf, so a Trump TACO and hopefully a prelude to him, claiming to hve won the war and winding it down.

How one deranged individual can case global chaos.

Although he’s also claimed there have been very encouraging talks with the Iranians…talks which Tehran claims have never happened!
Was a time when if a POTUS had made such a claim about an extremist fundamentalist regime I’d have believed him, nowadays…nothing to choose between them.

Indeed, I know if one is cynical, you could take the view that all politicians lie and indeed on occasion that has been true, sometimes for good reason sometimes not. But recently the likes of Farage, Boris and Trump have mde it almost normal to actually spout continuous nonsense and lies and very obvious lies at that without seeming to worry.

Whats mor epuzzling, though perhaps i'm overestimating the intelligence of voters here, people don't seem to care, they even think its fine.

I mean when people talk about Reform and say "why not give some different party a chance", I think, what one that very obviously lies, has no credible policies and is funded by ex pat billionaires and hedge fund chappies? What a party that is led by an ex Conservative and has since welcomed a number of MP's who were Conservatives and in the last government? How is that someone else or different from other parties?

    Paraphrasing...

DJT "we've had some good conversations with Iran and will be talking again later today via the phone. To give the talks a better chance of being a success I am delaying the bombing of their energy centres for 5 days."

Iran "no conversations have taken place".

I can't quite put my finger on "why" but I put more faith in the Iranian version of events...

Rumoured that the US attack that "destroyed an Ecuadorian drugs lab" earlier this year, actually took out a dairy farm.

The latest gubbins is that Iran has given him a huge present, worth loads, has a connection to oil and gas but... he's not going to say what it is. Source DJT.

It seems that the "negotiations" involved him sending a 15 point peace plan to Pakistan for them to forward to Iran. Iran's two word reply ended in "off". Feel free to fill in the blank for the first word.

He's now sending in a few thousand more troops to the area. The Iranian response was "come closer". They've been waiting for this scenario for quite a while and Trump is clearing the path for them to, allegedly, levy a 2 million dollar tax on all tankers going through the Strait of Hormuz. To wreak havoc on the Gulf States as well as attacks on Cyprus, Turkey and Azerbaijan. Gas and oil facilities have suffered long term damage. Dumbass didn't envisage any of it. I still believe he was dragged into it by Netanyahu despite Hegseth getting the blame.

Ordinary Amaericans are upset at the price increases which he says aren't happening. His millionaire and billionaire buddies are unhappy at share prices falling. farmers are unhappy at other stuff he's done which resulted in Canada finding other markets for their produce. Midterms are coming and, IMO, the only way he won't lose his majority in both houses is for him to keep everything as volatile as it currently is so he can call a state of emergency causing the midterms to not take place.

As well as things getting iffy at best here in Europe, I actually feel for the US population despite ot being their fault the clown got elected.

Trump now extends the deadline to 10 days before his next attack on Iran! This is a war instigated by crazy man child with no strategy, no self awareness and no understanding of international law.

Meanwhile Trump bad mouths Robert Mueller the FBI and special prosecutor (and a guy with an impressive record of public service and duty) who has just died. Virtually none, MAGA or Republican called him out on it. Yet when Jimmy Kimmel, much more subtly inferred that the right wing agitator and diseminator of false news, fake christian messages and outright racist and xenophobic bile was perhaps not a "good guy", Trump was demanding his show be cancelled.

Indeed a certain poster on here was expressing agreement that Kimmel deserved the consequences of his comments (which were very mild by the way) and yet here Trump goes much further and there is not a peep. not even from our poster who likes to think he provides "balance" the hypocrisy is staggering. But then its been obvious just how ****ed up this administration and especially Trump is.

Hes just an appalling person. His comments in Rob Reiner too were disgusting.

If our PM spouted anything like Trump did hed be out before dusk.

Only yesterday (I think) Trump interviewed and asked serious questions about the welfare of Iranians and his response was to talk about how good looking the interviewer was. I don't know anything about the show it was on but their response suggests they were pro Trump though.

Swale, Kimmel only did what countless late night hosts in the US have done for a slong as I can remember. Namely, extract the urine from the sitting President. Biden got it, Obama did, both Bush's, Carter, Regan, Clinton etc. How come 47 is the only one who can't take it?
