Hard to agree with that. You talk about rotten luck in January - never mind rotten luck, I think we were just rotten. We had taken 1 point from the five games previous to the St Johnstone game at Tannadice - a game in which we were depressingly bad. I had been living in England for 16 years, recently moved back to the area and this was the first game I had attended for several years. I knew things were bad at the club but I was alarmed at just how poor we were. We were the worst team in the league, which was backed up by the fact that we were bottom of the league for almost the entire season. It was a minor miracle that we managed to get to the final game with our fate not yet totally sealed.

To the vast majority, it was blindingly obvious from a very early stage in the season (think 9-0 defeat at home) that we were heading down that season. It baffles me that anyone could have painted a different picture, and indeed still try to back that up even today.
