New starts get a less good deal? It would take a generation or two but it would be relatively pain free.

Tax relief should be flipped 40% tax relief for lowest earners savings into pension, 20% for higher paid.

Agree about tax relief. It seems that tax relief is the biggest incentive to save. What could they do if they removed all tax avoidance schemes and had very low tax rate? Bamford threatening to move to US because like the farmers family controlled firms will lose their tax relief on transfer to next generation. Also SIPP will lose tax benefit which also means full value can't be handed down to next generation.

GREEN? Just watched their broadcast and was really alarmed at how irresponsible it seemed. Can't believe that any taxpayer, of no matter what political party could vote Green.

There is a Green Councillor on Argyll and Bute Council who has managed to get an extra ?10k per year increase in her Councillor?s salary as the Lead Policy councillor for Climate Change, Biodiversity and Gaelic. She was previously a cleaner before she became a Green Councillor. This councillor has just jumped ship from the Greens to the SNP.
Yesterday (Thursday) I sent her an email asking why she had jumped ship from the Greens to the SNP.
Was it because of the Greens ?tin pot? policies because the SNP have similar ?tin pot? policies.
I have not received a reply.

One of the main sources of income from taxation in an independent Scotland will be greatly reduced as the Scotch whisky distilleries are currently having major cutbacks in production due to a lack of sales and over production.
It will get worse as the cost of single malt whisky continues to rise and Generation Z are not drinking alcohol. Meanwhile the nip and half pint generation have died out.
I recently read that Scotland had a shortfall of about ?26 billion between what it earns in taxation and what it spends in its last financial year. There will no daily handout of a slug of methadone for druggies in Scotland in an independent Scotland. They will just have to go ?cold Turkey? if they want to get rid of their drug habit.

The wealth would drain out of an independent Scotland as large companies in the financial sector in Edinburgh and Glasgow will move their offices into England. RBS was renamed Nat West Bank in case Scotland became an independent country as most of the Nat West Bank business is carried out in England. This has resulted in RBS in Scotland being little more than a branch office.
I do not know if the RBS part of Nat West Bank still has its head office at Gogarburn beside Edinburgh.
If it still does it will only have fraction of the number staff employed there compared to when Fred ‘the Shred’ Goodwin was the Chief Executive of RBS.

Perhaps the tickets costing ?74 each deterred them as they are used to getting everything for nothing paid for them by the UK taxpayers.

I have just had a leaflet delivered from the Scottish Family Party.
One of their policies is to repeal the Gender Recognition Act. A man cannot become a woman.
Unfortunately the useless Scottish Greens still think that a man can become a woman whilst John Swinney cannot make his mind up.
That does not surprise as John Swinney cannot count.
