Thread: Next season

Simply play to our strengths, our best managers, Ronnie and Warney recognised this pretty quickly.
Organised, fit, hard working players it a system they all understand.
Sign a couple of unknown gems and bring through the youth...there dead easy.

Defenders and keepers comfortable to play with the ball, so they can pass it sideways trying to play some actual football rather than Sunday league crap.
Aimless crossing, because "getting the ball in the box is the best way to score". Just play more football on the edge of the box working the V trying to create actually good chances. More of the wingers getting to the byline and dragging the ball back to midfielders a la frecks.
And finally throw-ins and free kicks taken quickly getting the ball back into play trying to pass forwards rather than just aimlessly hoofing it back into the box into the keepers waiting arms

Football has moved on, and so should some of the dinosaurs on this site, if you want to watch idiots run around for a bit and win a physical battle I'm sure you can go watch titans next year, or alternatively go watch parkgate because that's obviously the standard of football you want Rotherham to be playing
You do know we've been relegated to League 2 don't you?
If you're expecting a lot of technically gifted players to fall into our laps for a relative pittance then maybe you'd be better looking for something else to do on Saturday afternoons.
What you describe is typical of what you get in the Premier League which has been pretty boring this season and shown up by the failures in the Champions' League.
I agree with Towner, we need a manager who can assemble a squad of players who can fit into a system they all understand.
One thing is for sure, we're going to need players with a lot more guts and spirit than the current shower have.

Well, who knows at this stage, other than one player clinging on invoking a year which should not have been allowed.

Tony, sell please, or get people in who know what they are doing with contracts. That’s the start, running the club right.

L2 is not the championship we need a squad of fit players get shut of those that don't want to play including the overrated Hall. Create a spine keeper, CB midfield general and big strong striker and build around it. Keep it simple no fancy tippy tap the pitches in L2 will not support that.

Last match over, and nothing said to clark. Irrespective of his abilities or not, the usual dithering will ensue. Simply because the waters are muddied with swiss, a brollyman, and who knows what else.

We have been here before, and warne walked. The squad is so bad I can’t tell whether clark is any good or not. He has got nothing extra in 9 games. Dabbled in limited player changes, but that’s about it.

The last time we scored 2 in an away game it was an emphatic win at exeter. How things change.

Clark has asked for urgency. He won’t get it.

I like Clarke manner and honesty - dont psss around - hes had little to work with or time in reality.

I suspect he?s got hardly a full 11 in mind to keep on but he?s planning and thinking ahead.

Rotten time for him not knowing where he stands either. He?ll be a hero if this time next year we?re back up again.

    Needs sorting sharpish this !!
