To have purchased it, they would've had to have paid for it.[/quote]

It's true, we won it instead.

Have you still got a replica copy or was it melted down for scrap to pay off Ben Haim and Campbell?

'We'll be happy just having a club to support', they proclaimed from the rooftops. No surprise they're not sounding quite so convinced now that the reality of potlessness, crap football and win free runs is really starting to bite. Makes you wonder just how far they thought their begging bowl revenue would stretch ?

Contrary to what some would have you believe, the PST has already allowed its share to be diluted below majority ownership because they needed to shell out on a few mops, buckets and training cones. How long until they finally concede that, without substantial external investment, their expectations will relentlessly and dramatically outstrip their achievements. But since they have shamelessly lauded themselves as shining examples of what a community club can achieve (ignoring the scores of businesses, schools & charities they brought to their knees in the process), it would surely be beyond hypocritical to then go and seek investment from outside sources. Tough call for C

After Wednesday's televised humiliation at the hands of Aldershot and the ensuing calls for Angry's head and a coachload of new players to be shipped in (sod the budget), this post seems more appropriate than ever.

Something else that could be perceived as a little odd - if they are truly 'debt free', then why does the PFA still hold 3 charges against the rathole ? Perhaps one of their 1,500 or so owners could use some of their much heralded openness and transparency and enlighten us ?

Can one of you please explain to me how they did this? The phrase 'charity thieves' is chucked around on this Forum, but every time I say that to a Pompey supporting mate of mine, he says they're all been paid back. Are charities/schools/businesses still screwed over by the process, or have Pompey (technically) sorted themselves out?

It's pretty simple Ricky, CVA after CVA after CVA etc got watered down down deeper and down until Francis Rossi himself would agree that actually they paid feck all of the debt they accrued in their 'glory years'

I can't recall ever using the term charity theft on here or anywhere else but I do agree with PFR. They went into Admin owing how much? I think it was north of £100m and how much has since been paid back?

I agree with Skates who say that at the time they were just enjoying the good times. I can also understand when they say they had no control over what was done in their. What I don't agree with is fans who say that but still bask in the 'glory'.

In many other sports cheating means the title and medals are stripped. Pity football doesn't have the same ethics.
