But I felt 1984 the league was tighter and Liverpool really performed.
I'm not an expert on domestic excellence sorry. And I think any Premier League Champion team would have beaten that Brazil team just because of the incredible increase in fitness over the years, they would have been outrun and outfought. But I still think they were the best

Oh yes, defences were not so well marshalled as they are now except for the Italians and Germans back then. But the point of fitness would be, if that team were around now and had the same access to all the tools of the modern era, would they still be as good? I think yes.

I remember watching that team play in the 70 world cup and they were responsible for creating a life long love of Brazil and its style which persists today, despite more recent teams "not fit to wear the shirt"

Gerson Tostao Pele Jairzinho Rivelino... all in one team. Could and did destroy anyone playing wonderful football. Their subbuteo team would have beaten most others....

Lets not stretch this topic to the best English league team else someone will be advocating the Huddersfield team of the 20s, the Wanderers or Blackburn Olympic

Spot on Rog...that team put my 'O' levels in jeopardy. The 1972 double winning Melchester Rovers side ran them close though.
