i.e. Post numbers 5/18/23/26/36/39/41 and 58. A positive attitude would make much better reading!
I get it dude I really do but I guess I put it down to pure frustration... I am a Notts fan and that will never change but when I see us throwing in the towel week after week it does my head in... Amazingly when we took the lead today they never had another attempt... Brilliant result today but this team like to give you a scare or 10!

No-one cane blame Notts fans for being negative after all we've had to put up with. But maybe this is the turning point. A bit of Wimbledon spirit might just do the trick.

Sums it up in a sentence. We ditched what Mark Stallard calls the "pretend pressing" today and actually fought to win the ball back, which was why we edged possession and created good chances. The 4-3-3 system worked quite well. The biggest worry was the left side of our defence. Jones was OK going forward, but as a full-back he stops virtually nothing into the box, and that's his first job. Ardley was smart putting Evina in front of him as insurance in the last few minutes.

Also with us playing Grimsby and Macclesfield next these are more important games than when we play teams in the top half.

What I liked about today is that we actually looked like a football team again and there were far more battling qualities. Jon Stead is the ultimate consummate professional and I know some on here scoffed when he was given an extra year but he is invaluable.

I thought Davies in midfield was a good idea and think he worked well. We are much stronger with Hemmings and Stead up top and a Thomas had a good game. We’ve got goals in this team but we still need to improve defensively as it is far too easy for the opposition to score by us tracking back and not putting a foot in or giving the opposing players free headers or too much time and space in the box.

The reality is we won’t sign or get rid of a aload of players in Jan so if Neal Ardley can get the best out of what he’s got and make a few key signings in January hopefully this will be enough.
I was going to say pretty much the same thing. Stead is an absolute legend - his work rate and commitment are second to none, and his hold up play and defending from the front were excellent today. Hemmings worked his socks off, too.

Agree about Davies - played really well in front of the back four. Won possession, kept it simple, and added a physical presence in the midfield. And the same goes to Thomas - worked really hard today and provided a good outlet with his pace. He seems to get a lot of stick on here, but the last two games he's done well.

Overall, a battling performance that was worthy of three points. Shame we conceded two sloppy goals again, and the second was particularly disappointing after what Ardley has said about us working on crosses. But we're a work in progress, and this was definitely progress. What pleased me was we were first to a lot of the 50-50s - especially in the first half - and showed great composure to play out the game. The first goal was well worked, and the second was pleasing as we managed to win the ball back in the final third thanks to tireless pressing.

Great to Ardley uniting the team and the fans already. Let's hope this is the start of a revival.
